Sorry @Not_Barry for a newbie you’re trying to hard.

I’m intrigued why you’re being so earnest and vociferous in your posting as someone so new to a site.

It’s a bit odd don’t you think?

Because I’m totally anti-war and also totally pro democrat.
Who wouldn’t be vociferous and earnest in wanting that irrespective of being new and not wanting people being killed from whatever side should be stated.

I am afraid it’s Barry without the I hate Saints bits

Why specifically gate crash here though? :man_shrugging:t3:

I think that is a bit harsh, just because I want to comment upon a specific thread you seem to be questioning me on it, its as if you disagree with me without wanting to say it, enjoy your evening.

Barry, you really don’t know how much your posts have meant to me apart from obvious comedic value.

Keep trolling love.

Barry, democracy is the worst possible system of government.

Until you look at all the others.

If that’s the case why aren’t you criticising Ukraine for failing to advance Minsk II, the peace protocol that was negotiated in 2015?

Putin was willing to accept it but it looks like it won’t be going ahead now:

Summary of the Minsk II agreement:

  1. Immediate, full bilateral ceasefire as of 15 February 00:00.
  2. Withdrawal of all heavy weapons by both sides, to be completed within 14 days.
  3. Effective monitoring regime for the ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons by the OSCE.
  4. Launch of dialogue on modalities of local elections in accordance with Ukrainian legislation.
  5. Pardon and amnesty of figures involved in the conflict.
  6. Release of all hostages and other illegally detained people, based on the ‘all for all’ principle.
  7. Safe delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need, based on an international mechanism.
  8. Restoration of full social and economic links with affected areas.
  9. Full Ukrainian control over its border with Russia throughout the conflict zone.
  10. Withdrawal of all foreign armed groups, weapons and mercenaries from Ukrainian territory.
  11. Constitutional reform in Ukraine with decentralisation as a key element; a new constitution
    by the end of 2015.
  12. Local elections in Donetsk and Luhansk regions to be held according to OSCE standards.
  13. Intensifying of the work of the Trilateral Contact Group

Is the lack of appeasement of Ukraine’s far right militias the main sticking point for you?

Ukraine’s parliament refused to implement the Minsk agreement. On Monday, Ukraine’s security chief said the deal was “very dangerous for our country” as the public wouldn’t accept it, leading to unrest. It would certainly be unpopular among Ukraine’s far-right militias.

This impasse means trench warfare continues in the Donbas between government troops and Russian-backed rebels, with human rights abuses and ceasefire violations by both sides.

How can they when Russian are paying mercenaries to keep the status quo in Eastern Ukraine, even Russia hasn’t officially recognised them so the intentions are hollow from the start, they’re not interested in planted Russians from years gone by, Putin wants to agitate, stagnate, frustrate the possibility of Ukraine joining the EU and NATO.

There are as many right wing nationalists in Ukraine % wise as there are in Russia, be honest you know this to be true.
If you want to discuss the Azov Battalion we can do so, the reason some Ukrainians did, are and went that direction are the responsibility of Russia or the Soviet Unions treatment of the Ukrainians historically, people flock to the flag in times or perceived or otherwise troubles, Uganda, Serbia etc etc.
The Holodomor plays a huge part in Ukraine psyche and can you not blame them, the Russians have treated them horrifically for centuries.

And Belarus now has Russia in its borders forever, they won’t be leaving, freedom and democratic aspirations crushed there, this is all so sad and pointless.

There are some brave people out there.

And sadly they’ll simply just be labeled as “foreign agents” which happened to Pussy Riot and a long list of journalists and others who dared to criticise the regime.

To say this man wants war is a huge understatement, he knows what he asks can’t be granted, this is Sudetenland all over again.
