There is no point in having this if it is just Pap’s mates or people without a backbone. The only purpose this would service is to provide Pap with backup in an argument when he says something mental or confrontational. That’s would not be a committee, that would be a mob. Pap and his brownshirts.
Therefore bletch has to be on there but should listen to him (or anyone) more. Chutney ferret, Spudders, CB Saint and maybe even Lou. Not because we have a history of getting on well, agreeing or even her having vastly different opinions from Pap but because Pap seems to listen to her a bit.
If you want to be really brave, put me and Bear in the council. We will have more coups than the labour party.

Perhaps I’m missing something, but am I the only one who doesn’t really understand why a forum with about 30/40 regular contributors needs eight members to own it or mod it or adjudicate it or whatever?
Also, in its new format will @pap still be paying the running costs or are others going to chip in or is it going to be self-financing?

The Soviet, I think, is just about future site direction. It’s not a judgemental or modding thing.
Take for example the swear filter, do we need it? Instead of one big thread where @areloa-grandee starts getting all down tools comrade the four people on the Soviet discuss it first and come to some consensus on whether it’s needed or not!
That’s what I understood from @pap 's spiel anyway.

I’ve been trying to find a Have I Got News For You clip of some banter between Ian Hislop and Sandi Toksvig but I can’t find what I want.
Basically Ian wsas going on about how attractive he was to women and that they all loved him, Sandi cam back with “Yeah Ian, whenever I see you I start sliding off the chair with moisture”!
