šŸ” Lockdown MkII

I would like to offer another version.
Whilst offshore waiting to get the chopper off I got weighed. I then went for a rather large dump and on returning to the heli lounge weighed myself again and I was nearly a Kilo lighter.
Make of that what you will.
But I was full of shit and then not so much.

Why am I reminded of Keith Moon singing Uncle Ernie?:smile:

I have made the first serious steps of rehabilitation into tv watching with the new lightweight Panasonic.

Apart from one or two watches of daft programmes, I have binge watched the first series of Picard.

Verdict? OK, but found it slow going a lot of the time. I will have seriously get into some unwatched Jathan Stathan films soon, but difficult with Mrs TB sat beside me. Once this lockdown is over I will have time when she goes ff for weekly singing lesson, so I just have to wait.

Planning to watch The Crown (recommended by grown up daughter, and approved by Mrs TB).

Aircraft carrier please, Santa.

Fully planed and manned please. I don’t want to part own it with the French.

Mrs P_F believes it will go next Monday.
As in I will shave it off when Saints next lose.
I simply responded by showing her a pic of you saying it was me on the way to the UCL Final next season

Now catch up on Star Trek Discovery
#netflix.
Stick with it

P.S.
It is actually aimed at 2nd December.
St Nicholas day.
Ho ho ho Dzien Dobry.
Had the kids in stitches

Fucking hell.

The showrunners could have wrote that themselves.

Honest review @Treebeard. It was a good show in the first season. The main showrunners got sacked following some bullying allegations. Season two is dumb as fuck. The jury is still out on Season 3, but it’s already getting dumb as fuck after a few promising episodes.

Different strokes for different folks @Treebeard

Some of us like it…a lot…despite the faults, of which there are many.

Including people being able to see lights at the other end of the galaxy with the naked eye

It does the fiction. It doesn’t even try at the science.

And, so what?

This is not a problem. It’s TV, it’s escapism, not something that needs to lend itself to overthinking.

IMHO - but I’m not a purist. I enjoyed The Umbrella Academy from Ep.1 ffs

Holy crap.
1st person I know who enjoyed it from Ep1.
I thought I was unusual at least thinking it had possibilities before crashing out then going back & loving it

Part of any good fiction is getting the audience to suspend its disbelief. None of this is really happening. It’s all made up. It is the talent of the best writers and directors to help us achieve just that.

I thought Disco S1 was neatly put together. If you watch that show from the beginning all the clues about the big twist are there, very early on, subtle, but there all the same.

S2 had some good characters, and even used one or too well, but the fallout from the end of season one left the LOST twat running things, and things fall apart whenever he does.

I think the problem I’m always going to have with Discovery is that I’ve seen and loved a lot of other Star Trek.

Some of my favourite Trek ever are movies II-IV. Populated almost entirely with typecast has-beens, just watching that crew so comfy with each other is magical. I don’t see them making a film of Discovery. It just won’t be that beloved.

That’s before we mention 90s Trek, which could put on a better moral play with some cardboard sets and in the holodeck episodes, whatever happened to be filming in the studio next door.

I hope it gets better. I hope that as with all Trek shows, third season is the charm and bereft of any attachments, it can forge its own path. I’ll probably never watch that second season again though.
