Typical Mourinho bollocks - trying to unsettle players just before a big game with the club of the targeted player.

Backup striker.
1 reply sees through it as Woodward bollocks

Shame really, because Woodward would have paid us about £150m for him

Isn’t this like saying we have an option to buy Messi?

Messi does not play here, yet. Keep up.

Maya to Sampdoria??

Talksport saying Yoshida on loan to Sampdoria.

SAMPDORIA TO LOAN YOSHIDA, SAINTS AGREE MADDOX DEAL

Sampdoria are close to agreeing a loan deal for Southampton centre-back Maya Yoshida . Meanwhile, the Saints have also agreed a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Jacob Maddox.

The deal contains an option to buy the 21-year-old in the summer. Maddox is an England Under-20 who played 39 times at Cheltenham last season.

Maddox will join Southampton’s Under-23 squad.

Ā£3m loan fee for Yoshida apparently.

You beat me to it but here’s the tweet anyway.

I’m gunna miss being able to sing -

Good to see nippers getting game time

Without wanting to be repetitive or the forum misery, I’m going to have to classify this window as very, very poor. I don’t care about a few million here or there. All I know it’s that our squad is weaker as a result of the trading.

It has definitely been underwhelming, I’ll give you that.

It you want positives then a couple of players representing the past have been moved on to free up funds and space in the squad for Ralph to bring in more of his own brand of player. I do get the feeling he is in this for the long(ish) haul and sees it as a project.

Perhaps our number one right back target isn’t available until the summer? Valery did pretty well last year and could come back in to the fold soon too.

Hopefully the clear-out can continue in the summer with Elyounoussi, Forster, Hoedt, Lemina etc moved on. Let’s face it Carrillo isn’t going anywhere in a hurry. If Leicester come back in for Vestergaard I’d let him go as well.

It looks increasingly like PEH will go in the summer and we may find ourselves in another summer of our best players being tapped up and pinched. So if we accept that our strategy will always be ā€˜sell to buy’ then by getting rid of some of these long timers we are increasing the likelihood of being able to invest more in the summer. Maybe that investment may help persuade the better ones to stay and commit if they think we are finally moving in the right direction?

Admittedly I’ve had to dig pretty deep in to the optimism barrel for this assessment but it is all I’ve got!

That includes his wages though so not a fee on top of the salary saving.

Luckily we have a ready made CM replacement for PEH… .
Lemina.

Oh wait…
