I had a look at his bio - graduated from Southampton Uni

He needs to watch his back. Essential viewing though.

What an absolute fucking disgrace. Settlers openly murdering the Palestinians with absolute impunity, aided and abetted by the Israeli army. No condemnation from the West, any who do try are immediately accused of anti-semitism. The leader of the so called Labour Party has banned any MP’s or councillors from expressing support for Palestinians, let alone attending rallies in support. Shocking in a so called democracy. This behaviour by Israelis should be called out for what it is, fascism pure and simple, the new Nazis is what they are.

I can’t see many people putting their head above the parapet and going public with this statement

Nazi is as nazi does. And they haven’t even got started yet, 1,800 dead Palestinian children, nearly 1,000 dead women and counting. I wonder how many will mean Israel has ā€˜won’.

War is sometimes inevitable, so why can’t we just accept the fact and make it as environmentally friendly as possible? There’s a lot of common sense in this clip, well done Ms Thunberg.

AI scores a direct hit…albeit an environmentally friendly one.

I trust you aren’t questioning the authenticity of the film?? :rage::smile:

I trust the supplier of the information implicitly…who could ever doubt you darling?

What will the children who survive the onslaught of Gaza think of those who let it happen? | Simon Tisdall | The Guardian

Absolutely shameful and utterly sickening. Some of the statistics here are heartbreaking. A daily death toll of 200 children and infants. At least 3,250 children have been injured, many with extensive burns, shrapnel wounds and lost limbs. Hospitals and clinics bombed, Palestinian civilians being ordered to leave North Gaza and go to South Gaza under pain of being classed as terrorists if they don’t. Then when they get there the refugee camps they go to are being bombed. And the President of Israel tells Sky News that Israel is not responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, it’s ā€˜Nothing to do with us’. These are unequivocably war crimes being committed in plain sight.
Meanwhile the West’s leaders give what amounts to full support to the actions of Israel, whilst mouthing weasel words about upholding international law. An absolutely disgraceful state of affairs which shames us all.

Nobody is disputing that the Hamas attack on October 7th was vile and murderous, utterly indefensible. That is surely a given to any right minded person. This doesn’t however mean that Israel has free rein and consent to commit war crimes and flout international law with impunity, targeting civilians, especially children in response. But of course they have form in this regard. The State of Israel have been slaughtering Palestinians for decades, bulldozing their homes and stealing the land to move Jewish settlers onto, mostly from Europe, a large proportion of whom are Russian. These settlers have been armed by the state, they regularly destroy Palestinian homes, destroy their crops and olive groves, terrorizing them and often murdering them, with Israeli police standing by watching. Trying to excuse and justify this, as this cartoon does is childishly disingenuous, trying to imply that this all started with the October 7th attack is just that, childish and dishonest. It’s simply a matter of right and wrong. And the treatment of the Palestinians by the State of Israel is clearly very wrong and has been for decades, armed and cheered on by the West, which has culminated in what we are now seeing in Gaza, which, let’s call a spade a spade, is ethnic cleansing in a clear breech of international law. Israel of all nations should know better, and it insults the memory of all holocaust victims.

Your new neighbour, say a Russian immigrant, moves your boundary fence 2 meters into your garden. You complain. he laughs. You go to the authorities. They tell you he has the right to do this.

A few months later he moves the fence further into your land. You complain. He laughs again and verbally abuses your wife and children. The authorities aren’t interested.
A few more months pass and he moves the fence up against your house. Again he laughs when you complain and throws stones at your family and threatens them with worse. The authorities aren’t interested.
He moves the fence again. Now it blocks your front door. You cannot get into your house. You complain. He laughs. The authorities threaten you if you take action to access your home.
At what point do you go out and buy a gun? At what point do you use it?
This Hamas led uprising was going to happen one day because the cuckoo in the Palestinian nest wants to just keep growing and pushing out and squeezing down on the Palestinian people, relentlessly and violently. With the tacit support of the West who are quite happy to see over 2 million displaced Palestinians living in what amounts to a concentration camp, where they are just expected to suck it up, put up with it without push back forever.

We come full circle.
For ā€œPalestinian Causeā€ leadership the world was moving forward, making deals without them, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar nornalised relations Saudi was next.
They needed to poke tge hornets nest, they needed more pain for the innocent.
They needed a new generation
Utterly tragic

I don’t pretend to understand the situation there, and I’d view with extreme scepticism anyone who claimed to. I do feel pretty confident that it won’t be resolved in my lifetime, and that I’ll never know enough about the ā€œrights and wrongsā€ you eloquently refer to to pick a side to support.

But I will say that I cannot accept in any way, shape or form, that the Palestinian attackers could possibly have been unaware of the absolutely inevitable results of the October 7th attacks and the utter certainty of serious retaliation. That’s why I view the cartoon as relevant.

This kind of rhetoric is doing Palestine no favours either, imho…

Hamas knew. In fact Hamas counted on it.

The only thing that is certain is that both Hamas and the Israeli Govnt are cunts.

I realise I’ve been silent on an issue I’m normally vocal about. Here’s how I see it.

Disgusting Hamas attacks = international outrage, and rightly so.
Disgusting and repeated Israeli attacks = all good in the hood.

That’s ā€œthe West’sā€ view anyway.

Well since any criticism of Israel has been now been upgraded to anti-semitism, Israel has been successful in silencing Western politicians. As witnessed by the downfall of an honourable Member of Parliament, the UK right-wing media will not allow balanced debate from left of centre.

Starmer is like a eunuch in a whorehouse but we all know what’s missing from eunuchs.
