If I was going touristing I wouldnāt go to Southampton.
But then I wouldnāt go to Liverpool or Derby either.
Maybe London.
Should we buy a big wheel and crown King Bazza?

City breaks, very popular indeed.
Yeah to Barcelona or Prague, Amsterdam or Paris.
Oldie but a goodie.
Excellent an article about student stuff in Liverpool when arguing about tourism.
But the 50 things to do before you dieā¦ Iāve ticked off 3 (but 20 odd years ago mind and not the craft beer they talk about), 20 (TUC conference was a blast in Blackpool), 29 (visit to the European parliament), 30 (so many visits), 36, 40 (not that keen on it), 48.
I feel we are overing old ground here.
Basically āstudentsā have a totally different agenda to ātouristsā so whatās good for students doesnāt usually suit tourists. For example I donāt want to spend an evening walking from one pub to another getting more pissed as we go; I did that 45 years ago. Nor do I want to go to eating and drinking places where I spend the evening shouting at my friends to make myself heard so by that token I avoid city centre āentertainment.ā
If I think it doesnāt suit my requirements for a good night out I donāt necessarily think a place is shitā¦just not to my liking. Nor do I think the places I frequent to be the ālast wordā in taste and refinementā¦they just suit me.
Liverpudlian Culture??? Ā£1.25 pints and Burritos???
Oi Ayatollah, get the house on the market sharpish, we canāt miss out on this.
Iāve got a new contract down South. Will be staying in Southampton and going to SoDaSoPa.
Fancy a beer, @stickywhitedovepiss ?
I went to the Showcase cinema on Sunday to watch Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
Love the recliners and the Dolby atmos sound. wonāt be reverting to the torture of the Odeon. Had some grub in Zizzi overlooking the walls. Very nice thankyou.
Film was bonkers by the way. Kid Goat enjoyed it.
Saw Dunkirk at the weekend - the cinema is ace - beer whilst you watch, whats not to like.
Ocean Village is fucked
Having a beer whilst you watch a film is well, 20 years old?
It meets your under 25 Glastonbury standard, Bazza.
What are you moaning about?
Donāt say that out loud, @dubai_phil is listening. I fear he and the Dubai Saints cannot process this news.
That ferris wheel in Southampton is stirring up some opinion, its something at least I suppose, their comments and hatred for āaspirationalā restaurants in West Quay are very funny.
Me & Teenage Mutant are going down to Waterside next week. If the wheel is up might go for a ride to point out landmarks in his heritage: The Marchwood incinerator, Fawley refinery, The container port etc etc.
TBF that was probably the last time I went.
I fucking hate going to the cinema. Having to walk across sticky floors to sit next some sweaty erk masticating noisily throughout the film.
This new place, however is so good that I even said to the Ayatollah that we should go more often.
Oh, you said masticating @cb-saint
Thought you meant something else more usual in a specialist cinema
Southampton has the sea musuem which goes on and on about the ill fated titanic voyage, is it any wonder why no one from the cruise ships visit? A museum about the sinking of a cruise ship? This is akin to going to Bovington whilst having shell shock, this is Southampton 100%.
We turned this into a craft brewery - now you can drink to forget the trauma.
