How do you get run out playing for a draw?..

Hampshire go to lunch trailing @ surreycricket by 183 runs. Smith (10*) and Alsop (5*) will look to build on 31-1 after the break
No, it’s only a tie if the team batting second are bowled out in their second innings with the scores level. In that circumstance, neither team has done quite enough to win the match, but it’s more than just a draw.
I guess that rule of point scoring is to reward the effort to make the target score, but then why not similarly reward the team batting first if they’ve taken nine second-innings wickets in a drawn match? I realise it’s not quite the same, but giving eight points to the side batting second could effectively ‘reward’ them for a batting collapse in what should be a straightforward run chase, brought about by a superb performance by the fielding side.
It’s not fair - so it’s a good lesson in life for them!
As any former bowler will tell you, it’s a batsman’s game - always has been, always will be. More than a little truth in that, too.
Are Hampshire going to survive the afternoon, straight back after lunch and they lose another wicket, fucktards…

What time is stumps??
84 overs due to be bowled according to Cricinfo - 19 left
Might be fewer if we make them bat again - currently 37 behind
12 overs left - or a draw if we make them bat again - 23 more needed
Arse - lost
That loss and the subsequent 16 point swing to Surrey sure has brought relegation a giant step closer
Damn shame McManus and Wheal’s efforts counted for nowt at the end of the day; some of the senior players need to take a long hard look at themselves, I reckon.
The table doesn’t tell lies.
Unbelievable that we threw that away today. 10 overs to go and every chance of making them bat again. Shockingly bad ending.
Royal London One Day Cup double header today and tomorrow, Kent at home today, Sussex away tomorrow
