Michael Carberry has a cancerous tumour apparently.

Holy shit. What a last over by Brad Weal!

Few people have brought me more moments of enjoyment over my Saints and Hampshire supporting life than Michael Carberry.

All the best, Carbs, in whatever battles lie ahead.

Totally agree Halo…the England call came too late in his career and got a bit of a raw deal while England were at a low ebb. Always a pleasure to watch, batting or his athleticism in the field.

Very best wishes to him and hope for a swift and complete recovery.

FUCK CANCER!

What a truly gripping day of County Cricket!

Brilliant effort from two Hampshire youngsters, especially McManus with his maiden ton but great stuff too from Wheal for that unbroken last wicket stand!

If we can come out of this match with a draw and ten points in total then that would give us a real boost going into the remaining fixtures.

Still need another 50 runs to avoid the follow on though!!

5 points for the draw

1 bowling bonus point

4 batting bonus points

We is good then

Looking at the points scoring I don’t understand this caveat

If the scores are equal in a drawn match, the side batting in the fourth innings to score 8 points plus any points scored in the first innings, and the opposing side to score 5 points plus any points scored in the first innings.

Surely if the scores are equal in a drawn match then it is a tie? So both teams should get 8 points??

Looks like the rules don’t understand the difference between a tie and a draw!

Meanwhile Hampshire continue to creep nearer to saving the game - 418-9…

I hope Surrey enjoyed standing out in that heat yesterday!

423 all out, 24 runs short of avoiding the follow on. Sterling effort there by the boys.

Will Surrey enforce the follow on??
