đŸ“ș GOOD SHOWS (no capeshit pls)

Series 5, episode 8 of Ray Donovan last night was stunning, sensitive and highly emotive. Anyone who has yet to watvch this, highly recommend it - first few episodes of series 1 are just tasters
it just goes from strength to strength and acting from all the cast is just superb.

Which of you tickets mentioned Outlander?

I’m worn out ever since Mrs D_P started watching it

(Apart from the exercise it’s bloody good)

Ffs ENOUGH WITH THE BODICE RIPPING

Tin Star - what a mess this show is. Has no idea what it wants to be. Black comedy/serious crime thriller/soap opera. Too many lurches in tone are completely distracting plus the central premise is completely unbelievable. Which is a shame as some of the acting is great and one or two episodes are very good.

I watched Escape on Ch4 last night. Looks great. Survivalist and some engineers cobbled together a winnebago and jeep to escape the Mexican desert. Next week they are simulating survival after a flash flood. A bit geeky and not everyones cup of tea but I enjoyed it.

It’s followed by Electric Dreams which has been good.

The Last Post on BBC1 Sunday nights is an interesting period piece about our involvement in Aden (now Yemen). I was about 9 when this all kicked off and didnt pay much attention to the news, so it is good to revist this part of history for an update. Lots of stiff upper lips and repressed emotions! Gotta love the Brits abroad.

A good summary TiCK, although I think I probably enjoyed it more than you.

The wife’s character has an especially dodgy character arc. Nice tits though - her not you TiCK.

As for acting watch Tim Roth in this and as Christie in BBC’s Rillington Place and tell me they are the same person. Sublime - as is his use of Fuck, Fucking, Fuck’s sake, Fuck off, etc. You just know that wasn’t in the script but Roth made it his ‘thing’.

It’s already been commissioned for series 2 so wonder where it will go n

Another vote for Narcos. Series 3 was excellent and given the change of direction and characters it had every right not to be. Kudos to Barry Sanchez who first brought this to my attention at Season 1.

Another vote for Black Lake too. Enjoyed that.

Apart from BODICE RIPPING and the recent horror of seeing someone trying to get his Willy up without a stock of Bearsy’s pills, Outlander is stunning TV.

Yeah it is VERY girly but it is so beautifully filmed acted and the scenery makes me yearn for home like no other show I’ve seen.

It has managed to keep my attention more from the examination of life and the culture of those days.

And I do think it has more Bewbs & Bums than GOT if a bit lacking in Pussies.

All in all, way closer to decent porn than any x-rated movies of the 70s.

And it’s on telly HERE.

Unbelievable

Ok Smegheads - New series of Red Dwarf starts this Thursday on Dave.

Marvellous

So annoying Murder in Successville & Red Dwarf haven’t sold globally

And before you ask vpn & geo blockers ate banned down here ÂŁ10k fines so have to install when in UK which means taking laptop but then updates get fucked up here.

“Hotspot Shield” used to do the job then got “infected” and fried everyone’s hard drives

Jesus.

It is very rare to find something on tv I can’t bear to watch but Outlander S 1 Wentworth prison was just in every way possible horrific tv.

And shown here let alone filmed.

The torture scene in the dungeon. Dear God

Just binge watched “MindHunter”, Netflix 10 episodes. Really fucking good. David Fincher directed drama based on a biography by the original FBI psychologist John Douglas. It’s not a procedural detective story, more kind of how psychological profiling for serial killers developed.

The interview scenes are are verbatim and taken from recordings. David Fincher is a master of these things

I watched the Guy Fawkes thing, Gunpowder? A bit gory, the hanging, drawing and quartering scene didn’t pull any punches, i was glad i had already had my dinner! I assume poor old Guy gets his in the last episode. But it looks promising. A political hero of mine is Guy, as Tony Benn was fond of reminding us all, the last person to enter Parliament with honest intentions.
