It is Epic.
Follows straight on but is already much broader and wider in depth.
New characters have slotted in and the jigsaw becomes bigger and clearer.
Took a while, quite a bit of quiet dialogue but got to end of episode 2and itās getting edge of seat.
Just done Ep1, S2 of The Expanse - nothing to set the world alight but reestablishing characters and setting up the plot - pretty good.
Will watch some more later after Mrs C_S and Young Adult have finished watching whatever shit theyāre now watching.
Yeah, episode 2: Getting edge of your seat
Cranking up episode 3. Late one coming onā¦
Can I just say
Dark Starā¦
Episode 5.
Wow.
Series 5 of Ray Donovan is its usual top quality impeccable ensemble cast self⦠with a new complexion of melancholy and regret. ⦠stunning stuff.
Tin Star just a gets better and better - about to head south for work so have episodes 6-10 downloaded to series end
Series 5! Iām only on Series 1ā¦good watch though.
ray d just gets better and better and as others have said John voight is exceptional, but all the cast are perfect⦠gets darker and more intense but does not lose its very black humour out edge that pops up at times usually driven by Mick and Buncy
Narcos - Season 3 - definitely watchable - probably more interesting now itās moved on from Escobar. Subtitled.
Show Me A Hero - David Simon (of The Wire fame) on public housing in New York
Started watching Narcos Season 3 last night. Only got half way through before my partner started to snooze which isnāt helpful when he needs to read subtitles. It sounds like it was dull, it wasnāt, he just has weird sleeping issues. I am looking forward to seeing what happens with the Cali lot and happy to watch Pedro Pascal again.
Also watched 3 episodes of Good Girls Revolt. Set in the late 60s in New York where essentially the women in a newspaper did the research and wrote the articles whilst the men were reporters and got paid more. The women took a lawsuit out.
Watched Bojack Horseman season 4 over the weekend - itās very funny but also incredibly dark, gets better every season!
Seriously folks watch Tin Star -now on episode 8 out of 10 and itās gone epic⦠think Fargo only less funny and more fucked
Brilliant
I know it was out a few months ago (and was probably discussed back then) but Iāve just caught Westworld. I didnāt bother at the time because I didnāt think I could be bothered to invest the time in something we all already know, but Iām glad Iāve now caught up with it - it really is superb. Jonathon Nolan (Christopherās brother) is responsible for it. It is, by turns, clever, action filled, dramatic and sexy (to soft porn levels). Iāve binge watched the first nine episodes over the last week and will probably watch the last of the run of ten on Wednesday night.
As well as the twists and turns of the story and really good acting from the cast, I love the little touches, like the cunning episode titles and the player piano playing Radiohead songs.
Superb television - reminding me a bit of the Prisoner (which is an example of when British tv did stuff this good - that was back in the 60s, though).
Two shows started last night at 9pm written by two different brothers. Liar is about a date rape and Rellik is about an acid splashing serial killer. Both good in their own ways although Rellik (killer backwards) does have this annoying gimmick of constantly jumping back in time a few hours.
My two favourite topics. I canāt watch stuff like that. It would depress me.
Iām torn.
The Expanse S2 - was it the best Space Based Sci-Fi since Star Trek or did it lose itās edge? (No donāt worry, no Spoilers)
S2 went ābroaderā the budget clearly went bigger. I think we managed to go deeper into the characters as well. But S1 was a strange show - part Sci-Fi Soap Opera, part political drama, part Detective Story and part well I dunno, a discomfort wondering about Blue Goo?
Then we go big. The Tapestry and Chemistry is there but slightly different was it the same āsoulā - this was the thing, Mrs D_P was hooked on S1 - The Detective story aspect, the āLove Interestā then S2 just got bigger and slowly she zoned out.
Me? I got more and more gripped and hooked. I can see this going into proper Sci-Fantasy land (not having read or heard of the books) I have to use an Asimov or Peter F Hamilton Universe impression.
So there is a review. It was Epic and it wasnāt. It brought Cinematic CGI/Effects that made you believe them - unlike some of Star Trek Beyondās over-use. It was tense, Character additions (interesting PC choice on the āMarineā - worked well and made a diversity statement about the future) and that side of it worked well - not GoT scale but enough to create tension in wondering IFā¦
So from me, it was Epic TV and cannot wait until 2018 for S3.
But I have to end with what? Not in an Ozark WHAT THE? But just a what.
No Spoilers.
You will know what I mean when you get there

Dear Constant Reader
So we started Under the Dome last night.
Iāve long had a love hate relationship with Stephen King - convoluted voluminous prose and gripping tales (interspersed with some that donāt work and are just tedious)
I remember reading the book and being hugely gripped and furious with it as it meandered along. Equally annoying is that I can remember general bits of the b ook but not details, I know some of the back story already but not enough. I do remember thinking GET TO THE END FFS! - Not because I was bored but because after about 7,000 pages or whatever I WANTED TO KNOW - (maybe thatās where Lost & Leftovers got their ideas from??
Everything about the opening episode last night just took me straight back to the book, the very slow burn the what is going on, who what and stuff.
I wonder in advance whether Mrs D_P will cope with 3 Seasons of this - but then she is a Dear Occassional Reader and may get it.
I think the fact that another King Classic is on itās way (part of the Trailer was filmed down here btw) gives me hope the show will manage to stay above turgid verbiousness.
And of course, this will all be a good warm up for IT.
So then, episode 2 of Dr Foster and she is becoming, if possible, even more creepy, obsessed unsympathetic and self destructive. You would not want this person as your GP, although a fellow GP praised her to the rafters, when clearly the woman has lost the plot. I can only imagine that this is the writers intention. I guess the idea is to make you more sympathetic towards her ex (although he is just as bad, but in a more controlled way) and then finally play the big switch at the end, but I am not sure I can last that long. Some car crash TV you just cant turn away from. Not sure if this is one of those.
And what is it with all this hanging around in peopleās gardens?
