šŸ“ŗ GOOD SHOWS (no capeshit pls)

Phil; point of order. I think you will find that Marvel’s Agent Carter does indeed qualify as capeshit , and that the Sotonians secret police will be sending a division of Dubai-based delegates to lay upon thee a holy smackdown.

I didn’t decide any of this; the Bear decided to exercise his power, things got out of control and dark forces are now on the move. I apologise profusely for what is about to happen.

I think we should take the photo into consideration and let DP off with a warning.

Does this mean I can get capeshit under the radar if I just post a picture of an interesting looking woman associated with said capeshit?

If so, let’s go.

Gotham.

Daredevil

Jessica Jones

MARVEL Agents of Shield

:lou_sunglasses: :lou_lol: need a golden post button!

Oi.

I did NOT at any time critique nor comment on capeshit Carter.

In fact I gave it grief for the fact it STOPS us seeing Hayley in her finery.

I think we should now pass the baton to Bear to find ā€œbetterā€ interweb pics of her.

The ā€˜Brian Pern’ Stuff is quite funny on BBC - Best is the manager :lou_smiley:

Anyone been watching the BBC’s new adaptation of War and Peace? It is what they do well - quality costuume drama. To be honest, I’m not really into 19th Century costume dramas but ended up catching this one and it’s kind of got me hooked. I guess it helps to have a little knowledge of Napoleonic history which helps to contextualise it.

Oh, and lots of pretty girls and boys for everyone to ogle.

I’ve been looking at The Expanse , a sci-fi mystery show that proves you don’t have to go to the ends of the universe to get good drama. The setup appears to be entirely within our solar system. Earth and the Moon are controlled by the United Nations. Mars is an independent military power, dedicated to turning a rock into a garden. Sympathies perhaps lie with the Belters, the humans that live in the asteroid belts mining precious materials for Earth and Mars.

There’s no light speed, no sci fi magic to explain. Perhaps the thing I like most about the show is that it does a lot of things properly. Things need to spin or people need magnetic boots for any kind of gravity, and the weightless scenes are perhaps among the show’s best.

At its heart though, it’s a mystery. An ice mining ship receives a distress call, which triggers off a chain of events that threaten to set off a war. Great politics, some very decent ideas (first time I’ve seen gravity torture used) and a grounding that keeps things feeling very contemporary. Very superficially, it seems like it mixes the political depth of Battlestar Galactica with some of the scenarios from Babylon 5; where an indifferent Earth is causing problems for its near neighbours.

About to hit the fourth episode. Enjoyed it all so far. Worthy sci fi. Yay.

ā€œMaking a Murdererā€ … Netflix.

This is based on the first book in a series which is pretty good, I am told. I have only finished the first book but I am about to start the second.

I’ve read this series. It’s ā€˜ok’.

Who is Vinyl supposed to be based on? From the trailers (it’s not yet shown in Oz), it seems it could be a drawn out and possibly tedious Wolf of Wall St for the Ramones. Dunno.

Also dunno how you get the time to watch all those other series. Admittedly, I didn’t watch tv for 10 years, so I’m still catching up with NCIS.

Finally, I actually enjoyed Elementary, but I don’t ask too much of my TV series.

Man, imagine going 10yrs without TV, and coming back to NCIS + Elementary. Must be tempting to switch it back off, try again in 2026.

I didn’t mean to vote down anal1, sry, that was mis-click. You can count that as a Vote Up!

But he can’t really, can he Bear? Your lack of approbation is now there forever. This is why People Don’t Hang Around! :lou_sunglasses:

ā€œNo worriesā€ bearsy, as we often say down here when we mean ā€œyou’re a dickā€. So, what’s Vinyl about?

Mick Jagger is the co executive assistant producer. I do wonder if he’ll follow Bowie soon.
