Superb.
There are at least two other Newcastles within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
There’s Under-Lyme, of course, which is where all the posh people in “Stoke-On-Trent” live.
My favourite is in County Down. Seaside resort. Big mountain on one side of it. Beautiful coastline scenery on the other.
Although that may be going to the Republic.
Now that the Taal volcano has calmed down and people are allowed back to there houses on the mainland (not the actual island yet ) here are some pics its not a pretty island now
Like Montserrat after their volcano eruption…made more than half the island uninhabitable. Had a workmate who was seconded to the idyllic Caribbean island for four years. Loved the place and heartbroken after the eruption, mostly for the local inhabitants who had to leave.
Went for a walk around Creekmoor ponds this morning, the resident swans have laid some eggs (4 apparently) and the pen is keeping them warm, at least I assume it’s the pen as the cob was out attacking seagulls.
it could have been the cob whilst she was off having getting some food. I noticed when we have the pigeons the male did a lot of sitting on the nest but would fly off quickly when I opened the door to the balcony. The female though stayed put and would let me get quite close.
We took some bread to feed the ducks and swans but they weren’t around, only the fricking seagulls, well one of the swans was there but not interested in the bread, can only assume that more people are feeding the avian population during the lockdown.
Up at the lake we now walk to there is a lone swan. Obviously self isolating. Lots of moor hens, coots, geese and the usual ducks.
Down to Hollow Ponds today.
There are a few parts on higher ground were we could see to the Shard and Canary Wharf put also BT tower and up to Ally Pally. It is so much clearer.
Did you forget to take the dog with you?
Nope she was a little tear away this morning…couldn’t get her to pause for a picture.
Is 06:30am still a thing?
over an hour into the workday at that time. just another 11 to go.
I’m hoping it won’t become a habit but the hour after sunrise is known as “The Golden Hour”…photography-wise it has a persuasive pull.
If it’s raining is it known as “The Golden Shower”?
Or is that something different?
I’m amazed Simon Bates is still going tbh
OK today’s picture of our little rascal is another in the Bluebells. She’s not my wife’s favourite at the moment as she’s just run off with her Hot Cross Bun. She did however leave the cup of tea…
To be fair hot cross buns are really tasty.
