Found myself one day upgraded to first class on BA and I was the only person in there

Champagne Sir?

Why not.

Krug sir?

Loverly

Had a glass. Moved onto to the wines. Then asked what happens to the rest of the Krug. They let me take the bottle home for the Ayatollah.

BA can be shit and brilliant in equal measure

How many times did she hit you with it before it broke?

Not as many times as when I bought her a frying pan for Xmas

Good to see the upcoming football front and foremost in our minds

To be fair, it went well with her new iron.

Just wait until she unwraps the new hoover - we’ll be recruiting for a new @sotonians member (note: we don’t have a waiting list)

My Dad just stood there shaking his head saying “what have you done. Why do you never listen”

He has never recovered from sewing machine gate 30 years ago

We must be of a similar vintage (although obviously different breeding). I passed my test, first time, four months before the 66 win.

I was having lessons during the World Cup and I passed on Friday 30th September…there was bunting in the streets of Lymington and joy was unconfined. :lou_lol:

We did a family holiday with parents BFF’s
4 adults 4 kids in an old Mk10 Jag to Scotland.
Is kids were left in the car outside a pub when someone came through the Bay Window screaming we fvcking did it.
Hmm

I passed on 6th March. Six weeks after my 17th birthday. I think the local reaction was more panic than celebration.

Love a bit of Nessun Dorma to kick off football

Yep I was 17 too…but I’m 3 months older than you. :lou_lol:

Love a bit of an remote control car bringing the ball on

Looked like mini iD4

More recently my stepson was so keen I took him for his first lesson at 00:01 on his 17th birthday. He passed his test a week later.

I remember that sort of thing was a badge of honour and newsworthy back in the day -

These days I shudder given the lack of experience and vastly busier roads and motorways- with assorted dickheads giving new drivers no quarter

Wonder how much the sponsor paid for that

When did he take his theory test, can they do that before 17?

It was just before theory tests came in.
