Remember Southgate’s initial justification for leaving JWP out, about picking players higher up the table… well I could have sworn we finished above Brighton.

What was the point of playing Prowsie if how he played wouldn’t have made a difference. It was an exercise of rubbing salt in the wound.
Yesterday reminded everyone watching of all the good points in his game. To select White ahead of him is a negative step. Load the team with defenders and hope someone will snatch a goal up front.
Yet again a squad designed to disappoint.

White was in defence yesterday. England gave away chances and half chances throughout, to a team ranked 43rd. Go figure.

Deciding to go to a “big club” to get selected for England is no guarantee that he will be selected.
Deciding to stay where he is may mean he never gets selected for England by the idiot Southgate.
See how the results go in this competition - he may decide, or be advised, that it was just as well he wasn’t in that dreadful and disappointing team.

Let’s hope you’re right; it’s not much to ask for a manager for our national team to be competent, and for him/her to rely on footballers in the best form rather than names who play for “big teams”.
Common sense tells you that for team games you pick the best in form players, and let them play together to form a cohesive team. Surely that is the point of friendly internationals, which means to me that the current batch of friendliest have been an incredible waste of time.

1st tournament I watched was 1970. We had A TEAM.
We didnt win.
Since then we have done the same thing, over & over.
Picked the best & injured players.
