I couldn’t agree more. Life was so easy back then, absolutely everyone was loaded and nothing cost much to buy. Poverty simply didn’t exist. When I look at the hunger and deprivations faced by today’s generation, I realise how lucky my parents were. Never short of cash or food, multiple annual holidays abroad, two cars per family so nobody ever had to catch a bus to work, everyone could afford to have as many kids as they liked without having to consider the costs…
She was the one who invented a load of death threats, basically adding them herself when the original Comms disappointedly didn’t contain any.

I really hope some of the journalists covering the election campaign keep on asking Starmer about this report from Victoria Derbyshire which shows beyond doubt that Starmer has been bare faced lying on a daily basis for months. Regardless of anyone’s opinion of Diane Abbott, she deserves to be treated fairly, surely the Party owe her that, her constituents who have consistently returned her as an MP with huge majorities for 37 years don’t deserve to be treated with utter contempt by Starmer and his cohorts. The enquiry into her was completed nearly 6 months ago, she has complied with everything asked of her, yet Starmer is standing there straight faced saying that the enquiry is nothing to do with him and he’s waiting for the result of said enquiry. A Party leader telling bare faced lies to the media should be called out. If he wants Abbott kicked out of “My Labour Party” he should have the courage to say so and face the consequences, instead of telling bare faced lies. He’s a thoroughly dishonest, cowardly charlatan.

They must believe that what they are told by their campaign machine will appeal to potential voters. Well, i say ‘machine’ but the LD’s probably have two nippers who’ve just completed a GCSE in marketing (if there is such a thing) and thought it would be cool.
A great article from Chris Mullin today which hits the nail firmly on the head regarding Starmer’s attempted purge of so called left wingers and stopping them from standing as Labour candidates. As he points out he wouldn’t stand a chance of being selected as a candidate in today’s Labour Party, likewise Robin Cook, Prescott and others. Yet the odious Luke Akehurst, an extreme right winger, fanatically pro Israel and all their works, a protege of Shai Masot, Israeli Spy of ‘The Lobby’ fame, has been handed the safe Labour seat of North Durham although he lives in Oxford, 250 miles away. So much for Starmer’s pledge that democracy would be handed back to local Parties regarding the selection of candidates. Starmer needs to be told that the Prime Minister chooses his cabinet, the local Party should choose who they want to represent them. It’s called democracy although it’s becoming increasingly obvious that this is an alien concept to Starmer and Co. We have the, quite frankly, disturbing spectacle of the ‘Friends of Israel’ trawling social media and reporting people for ‘liking the wrong Tweet’, sometimes going back eight years, deciding who we can and cannot vote for and Keir Starmer meekly implements the instruction. Democracy was great but should fund the parties centrally not from outsiders. Donations are bribes end of no matter what party
