šŸ—³:tories::labour: General Election 2024

If he had a better supporting cast as well - McDonnell and Abbott are not people you can put in those positions.

Surely you mean Abbot and Costello?

JC and Rayner, now that I could go for

Eh, disrespectful? How?

So now Sunak announces no Rawanda flights before the election and Fartage says he won’t stand either.

Turned out to be a nice day :grinning:

Its genius - Rishi doesn’t have to push it through and when Kier shit cans it and boat crossing increase (which they will because its the summer) then Labour is immediately going to be seen as soft on migration. Couple with some tax rises which they need to fund some of their spending commitments, because Hunt spent the money on an NI cut and the Tories will be giving it the same old labour from the off.

I suspect that one of the reasons Sunak called the election is because there were never going to be any Rwandan flights, it’s all just a gimmick, albeit a very expensive one, Ā£250 million and counting. He had staked the farm on Rwandan flights in June, he would have looked even more stupid,(if that’s possible), when they didn’t materialize. It’s all very well saying that leaving the ECHR would be no problem, but in reality of course it would have massive implications, not least on the Good Friday Agreement. Does anyone seriously believe that a British PM would want to reopen that can of worms? The Rwandan government chappies must be rubbing their hands in glee, all that lovely dosh in their bins. They took millions for houses to put the refugees in, then flogged them off, it would be funny if it wasn’t so disgraceful. Check out Suella Braverman’s history with some of the Rwandan ministers responsible for the scheme, millions of our money wasted, with lots of it probably safely ensconced in the Cayman Islands by now I expect.

I’m totally disinterested in this election. I can’t vote for Labour, which I would normally do, if there was any remote chance that the Labour Party would focus on a properly funded and supported National Health Service, free education, taxing the rich, having a fucking ethical foreign policy and generally not being and not being supportive of massive fucking cunts.
Obviously this is impossible so I will probably just hold my nose and vote tactically or not fucking bother.
The fucking dross we have as a choice at the moment.

Make sure you vote otherwise any political opinions you have throughout the coming parliament will be null and void.

It’s all about who is least bad tbh…

Starmer is going to have some fun fucking with pensions

There is a lot of noise that Lifetime allowances are going to be reduced however Labour are talking about special provisions for doctors who have Ā£1m pots by the time they are in their 40’s and ā€œpublic sector leadersā€

This sounds monumentally unfair - why should a public sector leader who has and lovely gold plated final salary scheme be treated differently to some one in the private sector who has to save far more to get the same level of benefits?

It will be a hard argue for him particularly when his DPP pension is entirely tax free because some special little tax deal

I thought Labour were going to roll back all changes to the lifetime allowance?

ā€œLabour leader Keir Starmer tells the BBC his party is only making commitments they ā€œknow they can fulfilā€ā€

That this gets a headline is pretty telling. For any party this should be standard but of course it’s bollocks.

the tories scrapped the lifetime allowance because doctors were kicking off because their pots are so big they got clobbered

Labour are saying they will reinstate the £1m limit but they are rattling on about giving exemptions to doctors and public sector leaders (the council ceo earning 100s of thousand on final salary schemes) - this is what would be manifestly unfair

They are also talking about forcing pension funds to invest £50bn into a public investment vehicle - which just sounds like a tax under any other name because sure as shit they will fuck it up and lose the money

It might be worth tallying all of the commitments from each party

So it looks like The Lib Dems, The Green Party, The SNP and Reform Party will be cut out of televised leadership debates in line with the format demanded by Labour. This is seen to help Labour as it will ensure that Starmer does not have to stand on stage and be criticized by smaller leftwing parties on issues such as green funding or the Israel-Gaza conflict. Tells you all you need to know about control freak Starmer and his puppet master Mandelson, who clearly don’t see the need to concern themselves with anything as vulgar as democracy.

I would love to see a ā€œTell them to fuck off or stay at homeā€ campaign.

  1. Tell them to fuck off involves going down the polling station and writing ā€œfuck offā€ or perhaps ā€œfuck off you cuntsā€ on the ballot paper.
  2. Stay at home skips the visit to the polling station. You can tell the to fuck on social media or whatever

It’d be lovely to see the apathy most of us feel expressed
