šŸ–• Fuck you Adam and the deserters

Lallana, Lovren and Lambert all left just after Pochettino went, so backing Koeman or otherwise had nothing to do with it. Do you reckon Mane would have stuck with us and not gone to Liverpool if Koeman had not gone to Everton at that time?

Koeman got all the backing he was after at Everton, to start with at least. How did that work out for him or them?

Yeah, I remember. I was only merely thinking out loud. As we know, it’s not pride in the badge, it’s Ā£ that the young uns crave these days. Don’t start me on people selling their souls for fame and fortune

Rather more to it than that. Chances of trophies etc. counts for a great deal as well. I don’t blame players for leaving, but with Lallana in particular (Lovren too, and a couple of others) the manner of the departure was what really rankled.

Yes, that was lower than dog’s balls his manner of leaving.

Indeed. Even if the dog in question is a toy Dachshund.

OK, so its s different reality, from the rest of us, but ā€˜young man gets head turned by fame and fortune and potential glory and acts a bit of a dickhead about it’ - he is hardly the first or the last, but do any of us really want to be judged our whole lives for the ā€˜worst’ things we did in our 20s? I would hope folks would cut me some slack on mine…

Liverpool fans will forget Lallana before he’s gone over the bridge, simple as that, you can’t blame players leaving for money and success but you can blame them for the manner in which they leave.

He wasn’t seven when he moved.

He’d also only recently signed a contract, declaring he’d bite hands off if he finished his career in Saints.

In actual reality, he’s likely to get his own fucking hands bit off by bitter fans.

Really was a ā€œhad to be thereā€ moment.

It’s ā€œthe rest of usā€ comment that grinds my gears. In the end they’re either entitled asshats or human beings. For those who ply their trade in life and can get paid literally to sell their soul, personally to me that makes them an asshat :man_shrugging:

For the life of me I can’t understand why he would want to come back, surely he must know what reception he would get from the fans. Does he think everyone will have forgotten about his two faced insulting behaviour towards them and the club? He can’t be that thick surely.

All true, but its football and football is full of idiot who make stupid decisions… is it really worth the vitriol? Like I said, no one wants to be remembered for the worst they do in life… I am sure Adam regrets being a dumb fuck over this one.

I must have missed the bit where he says he wants to come back, has he actually said that?

The only Adam I’d support signing is Adam Lambert.
Prob be better for us on the pitch as well tbh

Are 20 something footballers the same as every other 20 something?

I get your point. I left a few jobs burning all bridges on the way out during that era, and no, I don’t want to be judged on it. They were the first few years of my career and I’ve learned to do better.

Ads was almost a decade into a professional career when he made his decision. He was much richer than 99.9% of mid 20s , and a lot better media trained.

Other players can move clubs without too much of a fuss. He would have moved with less of a fuss if Liverpool gave us an offer we couldn’t refuse.

I have less enmity for VVD than I do with Lallana, and what he did was arguably worse on paper. Striking? Fucksake, and I tell the Reds in the house that he’ll do the same to them when PSG, Real or Barca come in with a stupid offer. VVD is fucking quality in whatever team you put him in.

Lallana is not quality at big clubs. He wasn’t consistently quality at our place barring the lower leagues, but we forgave him.

His problem is that he believes his own press, whether bought or paid for in the Echo, or photobombing his more impressive team mates in a season where he only started three games, and in hindsight, scored no important goals.

… but The animosity does not really stem from his quality on or off the pitch. I once met his folks (through a friend who went to school with Adam (and Drew Surman’s) Dads… before he was a first team regular, just ordinary down to earth folks, I doubt they were ready for Adam’s billy big bollox episode, nor would many parents be etc. I also feel this was less to do with media training (most of which is not fit for purpose for footballers who often struggle to articulate their names), and more just head spin and pound signs, which for someone in early/mid 20s is easily done.

Sure he was a bit of a cunt about it, but is leaving a football club for another and being a cunt really that big a deal, in the big scheme of cuntish things people can do? Why do fans always take these things as personal insults as if he had shagged your Mrs, then told everyone down the pub?

Seriously, he’s been a bit of a cunt, but I aint losing any sleep over it, and I dont feel he has ā€˜let me down’ or ā€˜fucked me over’ - I have to admit I would consider myself to be a sad full-kit-wanker-of-a-cunt, if I did!

He was a bif of a cunt. Agree.
I dont spend my days repeating that. He means nothing and I have no interest in him or his career.
He simply is NOT a fucking box to box midfielder.
Anyone who believes he can replace PEH mustneed better care in the community & needs to stop watching/following football as they clearly do not understand it.

It really isn’t that big a deal.

Except for football fans that support that club.

Welcome to football support, not that I remember it too clearly.

No, I’m sure he hasn’t,but someone is clearly putting the speculation out there, it’s been reported a few times in various publications. I was just pointing out that he would be a bit stupid to even consider it.
