Sing 2 is out.
So I watched Sing 1.
It took itās time and became brilliant.
And the stars who nailed their songs.
Awesome
So tonight Sing 2
Oh it is just wonderful. Banging tunes, stunning cast, stupid story.
Bloody loved it.
The whole Clay Calloway thing
Death on the Nile 2022 Kenneth Brannagh.
This is a wet Sunday in January BBC1 movie.
It has no class, no poise, no David Suchet.
It isnāt shit and kept Mrs P_F watching after a busy day, but despite a stellar cast there is simply no spark to it.
Almost as if someone said letās go on holiday to Egypt and claim it on studio expenses. Except the CGI of Egypt is just wrong.
Itās Agatha Christie Iāll watch to the end, but then I obv have a Vodka to finish
Mrs BTripz said it is a real messā¦
She was being polite
If only Kenny had done some acting in it, or even a bit of Luvvie.
Pretty much the most wooden acting performance since I was the Mayor of the Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz some 50 odd years ago
The Duke, with Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren. Based on a true story about a guy in Newcastle who āborrowedā a painting of The Duke of Wellington by Goya from the National Gallery intending to hold it to ransom in exchange for free TV licences for pensioners. Really good movie, brilliant performances by Broadbent and Mirren. Highly recommended.
Nobody, Bob Odenkirk takes Falling Down to another level, recommendedā¦
F9 Fast & Furious was clearly written by Interns from the Tallahassee Primary School French department.
5.5 on IMDB is a con.
Yet Justin Lin delivers on stupid stunts.
It is really shit but the stupid bits are almost funny
Like on a 1-10 scale 2
Like the Dude on the ISS saying
Is that a Pontiac Fiero?
Inserts, with Richard Dreyfus. Currently showing at various times on Talking Pictures.
One of those rare films where the sheer quality of the acting raises a mildly interesting premise to the level of high art, a bit like Glengarry Glenross. Dreyfus is usually good value, and heās quite superb in this.
Quite excited. Going to see Robocop, 35 years old this week, at the Liverpool ODEON.
Ultra-violence on the big screen.
Went to see Robocop last night for its 35th birthday. Even though it was on a pokier screen at the arse end of the multiplex, this was no āscreen Cā at the ABC. The sound was great, especially the hum of Robocop going about his business. That initial scene where Robocop strolls through the cop shop sounded immense.
What didnāt sound as great were the cunts sitting behind us, who telegraphed each line because they can remember lines from a film. I had brief fantasies of suddenly becoming Robocop and shooting them in the heads, like he does in the raid on the narcotics plant.
Back to the movie, itās really the zenith of all things Robocop. The sequels deteriorate rapidly. The second is alright, but thereās a lot of really stupid stuff in it and the ultra-violence has been toned down. The third is pointless. Peter Weller had ditched the role, the film was PG-13 and designed to appeal to kids.
Give it a rewatch. On a projector
State and Main.
Great film about Hollywood film-making, satirical and very funny. But Iām mentioning it for one absolutely delicious moment where the onscreen director (played by William H. Macy) is ceremoniously handed his lucky cushion on arrival at a new movie location. Itās inscribed with his motto, āShoot First. Ask questions later.ā
The actual film co-stars and is co-directed by one Alec Baldwin.
Trying to find time to go but the tech in TopGun 2 is insane
Been watching some MEGA porn.
No mot THAT sort, some Merlin Engine porn.
Lancaster.
Great stuff
I need to get back for an air show
Talking of air shows.
Topgun Maverick is a joy.
Itās like a warm fluffy blanket of nostalgia for the original, on steroids.
Mrs P_F lived it. I loved it.
The flight scenes are quite superb.
Marvellous
Iād need to have seen the original for that.
How could anyone have lived without feeling the need, the need for speed
