šŸ“½ Films I have seen

I actually find myself in some agreement with this.

A good opportunity for a debate…

I loved the shape of the Europa.

I remember watching the Gold Leaf team Lotus Europas at Truxton in the late '60s early '70s…amazing cars. Pissed all over a lot more powerful cars…

No time to die.
Is a Bond movie. It ticks every box in the formula.
At 2h 46m it is a pain in the arse, literally. Numb bum syndrome was kicking in about 90 minutes.

The opening sequence (formula tick) is different yet the same, different, being 20 minutes long and tbh, gripping. Almost worth the admission alone. Superb.

The story is more woke, more emotion on display in 1 film than all previous films combined. Is it Bond if he isn’t getting laid? It allows the cast to add depth to the film.

The plot is classic Bond. Evil villain. Island lair.

I loved it.

Only weak spot? Remy Malik. Too young, too cartoonish, character & reasons for evil ness not really ā€œgroundedā€
A good send off for a visibly aging Craig.

Oh hello.

Need to get Mrs P_F to bed. Dune just landed at my cinema…

IF you are a nerdy geek who remembers every word of the book, go directly to the biggest screen you can find & watch Dune.
(@pap )
IF you are normal & read the book in the last 3 years go to the biggest screen you can find now & watch Dune.

If none of the above, find the David Lean monstrosity, watch it & go to the biggest screen you can find.

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:
Brilliant storytelling.

Seriously - No - you still pissed from yesterday?

I have a different perspective- Whatever floats your boat I guess :man_shrugging:t3:

No.
Not pissed.
I get it is a tough story to tell.
I think he has done well…
As long as he gets to finish it.
If he doesn’t, then on it’s own it’s just more David Lynch

To be honest I read the books some 40 years ago, I’ve watched the first 90 minutes of the film and have found it enjoyable and mostly true to what I remember…

Having never read the books, I went to the Lynch movie in 1984 and, apart from some worms(?) I can’t remember a thing about it.

I may have been pissed or fallen asleep, but I’ve never made the effort to re-watch it.

Didn’t Sting play a part in one Dune movie?

Yeah I fell asleep in the cinema back then as well.

Yet I know it is ā€œan epic taleā€ and a story worth knowing.

So that Lynch disaster did have the benefit of giving me the gist of what I was watching and it made sense.
Mrs P_F who loves Trek but not much else SciFi managed about 20 minutes of the film before heading to bed with a ā€œwtf is this all aboutā€? Which I expect will be the reaction of many.

IF he pulls it off with this Part One that has very little in it other than much needed scene setting and big picture stuff, then Part Two will get made and should be Mahoosive.

I believe that line was from Brimstone and Treacle.

Only a Sting fan would know that. :stuck_out_tongue:
