Watched the Coen Brothersâ movie âThe Ballad of Buster Scruggsâ last eveningâŚI loved it, six stories about the Wild WestâŚwhatâs not to love. Oh yeah, perhaps a boys pic, not that all ladies expect a happy ending but Lady Slowlane would have liked it better if some of the stories did.
YOUâRE slow and boring
Deputies have no friends.
And with replies like that he ainât going to get anyâŚhurtful that was, really, really hurtful.
Iâm 3 segments in and am thinking of quitting, the Coen Brothers just donât it for me, never have.
Have you tried any of the Fast and Furious series?
Yes, Iâve tried them, theyâre ridiculous pop corn movies and I wonât go out of my way to watch themâŚ
@BTripz jnr had Hobbs and Shaw on a while ago, I was in the front room but wasnât really paying any attention to it.
Saw Vice over the weekend, the Dick Cheney biopic/satire (I still donât know which it is) where Christian Bale does his usual total fucking method thing becoming quite a fat bastard for the role.
Loved it. I think the best thing about it is that it really makes an attempt to humanise Cheney in places. During his run for VP, he makes gay marriage slurs a show-stopper, because one of his daughters is gay.
It makes the movie all the more scathing as the film gets into its final act, because this is a man that clearly had some limited compasssion when it came to his family, but almost nothing for anyone else.
Sam Rockwell is also fantastic in his limited role as Dubya.
I had a look yesterday but donât think that Mrs Fatso would like it so itâs on the list for solo watch (along with an Iranian and a Japanese one). Last night we watched Gretel and Hansel. Mrs Fatso thought it was shit. She really did not like it. I thought it was ok-ish. 5/10
Roadhouse.is it the best Bad Movie of all time?
Every cliche, every chance for Polski_Phil to name drop his time with Swayze.
God knows how or why but a true American classic
Leaded or unleaded?
thatâs the film that taught me how to rip a manâs throat out. Thatâs got me out of trouble a few times now.
Also learning that pain donât hurt was extremely liberating personally.
I watched Mandy (alone) tonight as I knew Mrs Fatso wouldnât like it. I didnât really like it either. Iâm not a fan of Nicholas cage. Iâm not a fan of gore. I found the whole thing a bit silly. 3/10
I love it, but yes, itâs not for everyone. At least you gave it a go.
Despite not liking it, I will thank you for the recommendations. The last 3 films I have seen have been somewhat disappointing so I need a win on the next one.
Have you seen âDa 5 Bloodsâ Fats?
I havenât. Is it worth a go?
Iâve got lighthouse lined up next and a Japanese film that Mrs Fatso wonât watch but Iâll need her to be in the room whilst I watch it.
Yep Da 5 Bloods is a good one.
