📽 Films I have seen

What a brilliant film.
I know a lot was shot around Chiang Mai but made me yearn for one more trip to Vietnam.
Shocked to learn Delroy Lindo is from London

The Vast of Night. Amazon.
Set in early 60s small town USA.
Paying homage to The Twilight Zone and a whole bunch of 60s classic sci-fi
A really old fashioned story.
Basically schoolgirl night shift phone exchange operator gets some strange calls that get cut off and hears a noise.
Really well done “eerie” movie proving you dont need slashes & gore or a budget to make an old fashioned hair standing up suspense inducing film using nothing but lighting & music.
Drags just a bit in the middle but that middle is important so let them off. Didn’t quite scare me, but reminded me how films like that would make me double check doors & windows were locked.
Worth a watch.

Overlord. Netflix.
Nazis, Zombies & DDay.
The good news it isn’t shit.
It has more holes than a body in a Stallone War Movie. More cliches than Sky Sports reporting on the dippers winning the league.
But around that it was ok filling the Vodka hour.
Annoyingly watchable

So, I’m now into Season 3 of Rebels and I’m hooked, S1 was a bit slow but S2 was excellent, the return of some well known protagonists has helped.

So I’m going to rate things as I see it

  1. Episodes 4,5 and 6
  2. Star Wars : Rebels
  3. Star Wars : The Clone Wars
  4. Episodes 7, 8 and 9

  5. Episodes 1, 2 and 3

Me and Mrs Fatso watched “Us” the other day. A good film. From the director of “Get out”. Made me scream a couple of times.

For most of my life I’ve been a very scared person. I’ve always avoided horror films but for the past couple of years I’ve been drawn to them. I don’t know why. I’ve begun to enjoy the tension. I’ll never like gory stuff. Tonight we watched Hereditary which made me extremely anxious and I watched most of it from behind my blanky. It’s a very, very good film. The soundtrack alone is enough for me to shit my pants and it’s basically just one note all the way through. Everything about that film scared me witless even though there were only 3 audible screams. At one point the colours of the wallpaper and lighting made me almost cry.

Have you watched Babadook?

Funnily enough that was the film I wanted to watch but for some reason it’s not on my IPTV so went for hereditary instead. I’ve got The Witch lined up next. Only problem is Mrs Fatso is going away today for a week and I can’t watch it alone. She makes me braver.

Babadook likes it when you’re alone.

Frees you up for some of your mancrush activity though

Just finished clone wars and thought it was great, really fleshed out a lot of characters, lots of good references to the films (I’d be interested to see if Anakin saves Obi Wan 9 or 10 times over the 7 series) and filled in a lot of gaps/plots that sat in-between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, really enjoyed it once it started catching up with events of Episode III. Just started watching Rebels and I’m enjoying that too, Chopper is fucking ace :lou_lol:
