If youāre expecting Game of Thrones I think youāre going to be disappointed. This is after all, a show aimed at children, much like the films were aimed at children.
I think the first season had some great self-contained Star Wars stories, far more in the spirit of the originals. Itās a formula that has been lifted for the live action Mandalorian show.
A lot of the three-episode shows could easily be adapted into kick-ass Star Wars films, and I think that basically all the characters are handled better.
I also like the fact that everyone knows Jar Jar is a fucking joke. Just watched an episode where Padmeās ship gets destroyed and she asks Threepio if it was droids. It wasnāt.
So, Iāve just finished the whole of the Clone Wars, season 6 was good but season 7 was excellent.
Given what is about to happen with Star Wars Rebels, which was recorded before S7 of the Clone Wars, you can see why they made S7 5 years after the end of S6.
Iām quite pumped for watching Rebels now, although I understand (from my son) that that too is a slow burner.
I was watching Holmes and Watson, for something to watch, when your post came in. H&W was, quite frankly, crap so I watched Coherence, it wasnāt very coherent but thought provoking.
Iāve just finished watching Predestination, Iāve seen it before but forgot about it. I quite enjoyed itā¦
Just watched Jurassic World : Fallen Kingdom. I thought this one was pretty good. In fact, I think all the Jurassic Park movies are pretty good. Is there a more consistent five-film non-rebooted series of films?
Hmmm, interesting question, what have we got for comparisonā¦
Rambo - Not seen them all so hard to comment.
Terminator - Terrible after T2
Star Wars - Terrible after Jedi and arguably soft reboot for final trilogy.
Mission impossible has been fairly consistent apart from the second installment,
Havenāt seen them but would Harry Potter be a contender?
Against my initial reservations, I actually thought the most recent Terminator was quite good. Not up to the level of the first two obviously, but a decent film.
