All three of those religions use the same book more or less Barry or at least the first bit of the book. That is why Muslims call Christians and Jews ā€˜fellow people of the book’. It is all based on Abraham going to the desert to kill his son or something like that. Then Gabrial (not the footballer) comes a few times in all of them and says some stuff. At this point they are all pretty much the same and have the same stuff about gays are bad but not as bad as shellfish which is really bad and don’t shave (same page as don’t be gay in the bible).

Then the Jewish one stops but the other 2 continue, there is stuff about Jesus in both although the Muslims have the difficult Jesus teenage years which didn’t make the edit in the Christian one. Then there is a bit of difference. Christian one says Jesus was killed, then went zombie, then says ā€œI forgive them so you should forgive people but also be guilty about your sins cause you did basically kill me and that cross thing really hurt you fuckersā€ while Muslim one says ā€œgod was angry bout Jesus going to be killed so took him to heaven before any killing happenedā€. The Christain one stops but Muslim one continues.

Muslim one then has loads more about Mohammed. First, he was bit religious nutter and well into the book stuff the jews and the Christians were into. Where he lived in Mecca (not bingo) people were more into Indiana Jones type stuff with loads of gods and man with random face paint etc. So they sent Mohammed away. Then he was bit famous for being a sound guy so these tribes asked him to mediate in their argument. He put in his book that he went to mediate and see which tribe should be the leader. After a lot of thought he was like ā€œI know, cause you can’t decide, I will be leaderā€. He put in the book that they were all up for this but he did dictate the book so he would say that. Anyway, this pissed off the Indiana Jones people in Mecca and there was a big war. At this point, Mohammed puts loads of stuff in his book about war. He puts some rules in but is generally fury and wants to kick ass so puts angry stuff in too and stuff about world domination. This is the bit the nutters and dicks tend to focus on. Then he wins the battle so becomes the leader of all of that area. He then gets flown to Jerusalem and gods tells him all the rules all of the past and all of the future. This is very much like Christmas carol story which I think Dickens ripped it off from Mohammed. He says he definitely flew through and met god and it was 100% not a dream. He was a powerful warlord now so no one was not believing him or calling him a liar or if they did they didn’t say it out loud or near the guy writing the book. Not with all these new stoning rules god had just told Mo about anyway. People were getting to be V careful about agreeing with everything Mo was saying by now.

That is a summary of all three books. As you can see Barry, the not being gay bit is in all three books and is the same in all. The main difference is in the later chapters. The bible has the Jesus stuff which the jews don’t. There is a big focus here on forgiveness. They ignored this bit in the crusade times but it was in latin then and no one could read anyway. Then the Mohammed extra chapters in the Muslim one with bit about world domination and war. So if you are going to highlight the bad point of their book versus ā€˜ours’ I would not focus on the don;t be gay bit baz.

So all Muslims are homophobic according to the lore that is Barry Sanchez. Apart from the fact that it is bollocks, how does that square with Gay Muslims?

I agree with that, Jamaica is horrendously homophobic as are parts of Africa, we ahead of the game and I wonder if there is a bingo hall in Mecca.

sounds like pap and the frm elections

ā€˜ā€˜If you follow the doctrine of that faith then you are a homophobe no argument, none at all. Its not a pick and mix, good people have bad thoughts because of a book of unproven racist, homophobic and sexist crap shocker. I don’t think I need to add anymore as you can’t dispute it.’’ Barry Sanchez 2017

I’ll dispute it @barry-sanchez (like I did with you before) :lou_wink_2:

The Dogma (the part of a religion that must be fully embraced, beleived and adhered to) of Islam (as far as my understanding) is presented as such:

''Islam

Muslim dogma is succinctly prescribed in the Five Pillars of Islam. The first and most important of these is the, shahada, or the confession of faith, is the declaration that Allah is the only God and that Muhammad is his prophet. This is the core statement in Islam, and one is expected to believe it if entering into the Muslim community. This pillar illustrates the importance of monotheism in the Islamic tradition that declares god to be unequivocally singular. Allah’s oneness is described through Tawhid, can be found written in the Qur’an in Surah 112, which states that ā€œHe is Allah, the one and only God the Eternal, the Absolute He begot none, nor was He begotten and there is none comparable to Him.ā€ Further, the dogmatic importance of monotheism is made evident in the Muslim rejection of idolatry and polytheism. Depictions of Allah or Prophet Muhammad are considered to be idolatrous if they venerate a physical reality separate from the one true God. This sin of idolatry is known as shirk, which refers to the acknowledgement or worship of anything that is not Allah.

The second pillar of Islam, called salat, involves five obligatory daily prayers. The third pillar of Islam, Sawm, involves fasting from dawn to dusk during Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar. The fourth pillar, Zakat, requires that a portion of a person’s income be distributed among the poor (almsgiving). The fifth and final pillar, Hajj, states that a Muslim must make one pilgrimage to the city of Mecca during his or her lifetime. Each of these pillars is central to Islam and can be seen as the Muslim equivalent of dogmata.

In addition, the Qur’an, Islam’s holy book, is also considered by Muslims to be of divine origin, transmitted word for word from the Allah to the angel Gabriel to the prophet Muhammad, and therefore representative of an absolute truth. As such, all of its contents are taken to be authoritative revelation. Moreover, Jihad (literally meaning ā€œstruggleā€ or ā€œendeavorā€), is also indispensible to Islamic adherents. The term has a variety of meanings ranging from personal spiritual struggle to holy war for Islamic supremacy. The true definition has long been the topic of debate in Islamic theology but the importance of jihad in a Muslim’s life is not disputed.’’

Nowhere in the 5 pillars of Islam does it state that you need to be homophobic (as one example) - so in my understanding, to adhere to Islam you don’t automatically become homophobic. The last paragraph of that quote is the interesting part for me, as it instructs that the teachings in the Qur’an are an absolute truth (which is what you seem to base your argument on and I understand that), but will you agree with me that the interpretation of some of those teachings are wide open? Either lost in translation or purposely misinterpreted to fit an agenda? I’m by no means an expert in theology, so anyone feel free to correct/educate me.

And just to clarify, I wholeheartedly agree with you Baz that all religion is a waste of time, I’ve got no real love for any religion, but I cannot agree with you that by definition _ **every ** _Muslim is homophobic by virtue of the teachings of a religious text that is open to interpretation.

Some more suggestions.

If someone has been to Libya and Syria, and you’ve had two of his associates inform you that he is interested in suicide bombing, then it’s probably worth keeping an eye on that person.

Quite astonishing that the Manchester bomber was not picked up beforehand. The authorities were told.

It makes me think, ā€œWhat do you have to do to be arrested on terrorism charges?ā€

It sounds to me like the only way is to be a really shit suicide bomber.

Great post mate but we’ll have to disagree,

Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins)."

Prob you need to have some evidence against you. Scary to think that visiting libya and someone saying ur dodgy doesn’t put you on the High Risk list, makes you wonder what they’ve got on the guys who are!

You reckon? A lack of evidence did not stop Cressida Dick, currently in charge of all counter-terrorism, from having her team perforate an innocent Brazilian at Stockwell tube station.

Just seen some photos of those troops protecting the public. Photos of them outside 10 Downing Street, Parliament, Whitehall, Buckingham Palace. I get they’re landmarks with tourists but sort of looks like just protecting MPs and Royalty.

Anyone seen them out and about elsewhere?

That’s what I’m opposed to! It seems v.fascist if every british citizen who visits their parents homeland, and who is alleged to like terror, gets picked up, arrested (ur suggestions) or put under indefinite 24/7 surveillance to see who they come in contact with (I suppose this is what they actually do tbh, you ain’t gonna learn much picking bros up and asking them r u suicide bomber?).

It’d answer the present case no question, I’m just surprise you bros would countenance on it.

We’re not talking about every British citizen. We’re not talking about every country of origin. We’re talking a bit of targeted profiling, looking most at the citizens of countries we’ve fucked up. That’s a good place to start, but it does mandate a bit of intelligence and the resources to tackle it.

We had a French politician break the news that the bomber had been to both Syria and Libya on Radio4 today, so your apologism for the fucking shit security setup is somewhat misplaced.

Let me repeat. This bastard was reported TWICE. That’s corroboration. He’d been to Libya, repeatedly and had been to Syria, both noted hotspots of extremist activity. I don’t think it unreasonable that someone like him would be watched, and am increasingly reaching the view that this could have been stopped in its tracks.

I got an email from my HR Dept telling me to be careful and to phone the police if I see anything suspicious, after phoning in work to tell them I might be delayed by some terrorist nut-job and I need to book a days holiday if I get delayed by a couple of hours trying to get in to the office. Well, it was something like that, but couldn’t be arsed to read the email properly…
