Security services were warned about him a few times apparently over the past five years, even by family members and schoolfriends. They were told he had been back and forth to Libya and Syria, warned that he had an interest in suicide bombings. They were last warned quite recently according to Frank Gardner on the BBC. Last thing on this subject Baz, I posted this article before, I found it an interesting read if only in that it offers a differing viewpoint to the interpretation of the Qurāan on the topic of sex and sexuality. Iām by no means saying it is the definitive explanation of the teachings of the Qurāan (certainly, as I donāt believe in the steadfastnessness of any religious teachings so how could I state one version was definitive over another?), or that this is how I think the majority of Muslims interpret the teachings, but I think it gives a good insight into some reasons as to why people might decide to believe or interpret things one way or another.

Security forces say that the terrorists only have to be lucky once, they have to be lucky all the time. They must have thousands of people they are monitoring. Question is, how long can you closely monitor someone?
