Think about it whilst you look up Umm al-Darda and learn how women were some of Islams greatest scholars, until in medieval times, when the men started studying philosophy and particularly Aristotle, a man who held that the subjugation of women was both “natural” and a “social necessity".

Last night as leaving the concert some guy shouted out “fuck her in the pussy” I have no idea to who. It didn’t feel very bantery to me. I looked around and seemed to have found the idiot who said it who then proceeded to say other unpleasant comments. White British guy. All bar a few of my experiences of sexual harassment were white british/european/South American (predominantly christian countries).
There are issues about women’s equality all over the world, all religions, west or east. Some are worse than others but to ignore inequalities here because it seemed less worse here isn’t helpful. We need to address all of it.
