Naive young side that will get better ā¦ IF they donāt get full of it and keep feet on groundā¦ remember that German side had two semi final defeats as it grew and evolved form a very young side in 2006 and 2010 before winning the fucker. If and itās a big IF they remain level headed and work hard, there is no reason Why that side canāt be amongst it at tournaments in 2020, 2022 and 2024.
ā¦ only sad thing is, I donāt think the other big nations will all be as poor again at same timeā¦ I mean a WC semi line up without at least 1 of Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands etc? Will that happen again?

Failed to take our chances when on top and paid the price. Croatia were deserved winners. Hope they stuff France in the final.

For all the stick Sterlingās taken I think Harry Kane has been poor in the knockout games. Largely anonymous here and against Sweden and not much better in open play against Colombia. His attitude is a million times better than Rooney, but he seems to only be able to deliver at domestic level and in qualifying, then choke at the big game stage.

We miss a creative midfielder. Kane started to come deep looking for 5he ball in the same way Rooney used to. In my experience, strikers are fuck all use unless they are in the other teams 18 yds box.

In the second half Croatia targeted our weakest link: Ashley Young.
Should have swapped him for Rose after about 55 minutes.
Itās fine margins and hindsight is great. I reckon we did better than anyone expected and we should just learn from it and crack on. Lets be honest, who thought weād be 20 minutes from a place in the final?
