He hardly showed up in the 3 knockout games, and missed from 1 yard out in the semi final.
Not saying he deserves to be hounded, but as captain he should be more in the firing line than anyone else considering his performances. On paper, heās our only world class player, for chunks of this tournament he was carried.
That said, thereās undoubtedly positives. Hard to see this as a team as anything other than in the ascendcy. A manager we seem to be able to get behind. It looks positive.
