A positive update.
The Dxb Saints member with the Virus was released from Hospital yesterday after 15 days.
Nasty bout of Pneumonia from it but now fully certified as clear.
He felt so much better, it took him 5 pints before he could relay that information to our WhatsApp group.
FYI UAE has a US style hybrid Private system - free for UAE Nationals, Insurance for everyone else. Government paying for all Covid-19 cases up front to avoid any delays & then reclaiming IF they can from insurers if not it’s free.

Either a) Johnson, That Man-Cock and the CMO have not been observing the correct levels of hygiene and social distancing or b) it doesn’t work.

I’m not sure it’s a case of money - more supply. When the entire world wants this kit it is going to be scarce.
I suspect they will raise a ton of money and find that they cannot spend it

The thing is I could have ordered online thousands of masks, gloves etc to a certified PPE standard 5 days ago and it would be here tomorrow. I could then deliver it to the hospital. Why is it taking so long?

A key figure is the US alone needs 3.5 billion. They have 35 million - they are saying that it will take 18 months to fulfill that amount

I wonder why we haven’t had the calls to manufacturers of PPE that we have for engineering firms?
Perhaps because the ventilator thing was (as I’ve mentioned before about it being like the life jacket under your airplane seat) a distraction? And that we, well our doctors and nurses, would know if it hadn’t actually turned up in greater numbers?
Or perhaps we want doctors and nurses to get it early so that they might be part of the herd? Remember that the PPE advice was said to be recently under review - midway through the fucking pandemic (midway = hope).
There are lots of inconsistencies in our response to this national/global disaster that tell us a lot about the priorities and concerns the government has. PPE has been one of those.
