Special Brew was 9%. I believe they reduced the abv because of new guidelines saying that no single drink should exceed the daily limit for men (4 units.)

For a couple of years, Red Stripe sold a direct rival to spesh, called Crucial Brew. That one packed an abv of 11%, I only tried it once.
