There’s conspiracy theorists and complete and utter deluded fucknuts. Oh, wait
. :man_facepalming:

It’s no surprise, there were undercurrents of this last year on social media

Well maybe if they concentrate on the climate change for a few months we can get the rest of the reluctant, vaccinated whilst they are not watching

Today is a very interesting day.
Details later but I am learning the whole ITK about the Astra Zeneca vaccine. From THE source.
So far have told him it so HAS to be a book/movie, he said maybe that will make up for not getting knighted.
I replied, obviously not a money making mate of Boris.
We are now BFFs for the day.

Hasn’t someone already written and published a book about creating a Covid jab?

I will ask but my guess is that story started in the middle, not the beginning
#itk time
:crazy_face::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

OK now my guy is safely out the country and not breaching any obligations.
My guest patented the technology that AZ used to create their Vaccine. His name is on it.
He partnered with the Jenner Institute in Oxford way back in 2003 or something to explore applications.
They believed it was important enough to go big so they went to ICI - who were basically (I paraphrase) a big corporate. They also partnered with the Serum Institute in India.

When it came to the vaccine the tech produced results and everything was bubbly except ICI were gone & AZ were in partnership. Their vaccine was “made” in small VATS.

Unfortunately The Serum Institute only had BIG VATS, and so they had a Production Engineering problem and hence the Production delays and problems.

It all got solved, his Tech “helped save the world” everyone got knighted and will make millions.

Except for him.

But as he said, eventually there will be payback as the tech may allow other vaccines and his “employer” (ie Patent holder) will benefit, one possible vaccine could be Ebola.

He was without doubt the 1st bloke I’ve met I could spend a night downing Ales and talking shit with. We actually had a lot in common, he knew my old MNC and was impressed with my Recycling work and had read about them (once when he was bored on a flight).

He is coming back he is booking trips and yes, the story of the vaccine / book will be on my must read list when he has time to chat to a ghost writer.

Oh and his opinions on woke fossil fuel insulate deniers.

"They post on Insta “I reject the evil of capitalism I reject using fossil fuels and raping the Earth for scarce resources” and send it from their Smartphone

And like me he asks - who the hell is going to recycle all those toxic waste batteries? Doesn’t ANYONE know how much they cost to safely dispose of?

It was a good day. I have paraphrased a bit but

That is a conversation I would like to have been part of

I did think of you tbh

I went as deep with my questions as a former CEO could go rather than as a Taxi Driver would go. And in total we were together actually driving for about an hour. Next time I see his name on a “Corp Transfer” list will let you know if I can.

Also, will ping you a DM

Austria into full lockdown
On the 10th Dec those who are vaccinated can come out of lockdown
By Feb 22 they want to make vaccinated mandatory across society

Thanks. Just checked and it works already

Not good

Saw that and noted that his vaccine status is not reported.
Now he could have been doubly vaccinated and hugely unlucky, or suffering several major co-morbidities (in which case huge kudos to him for continuing to work) or

But three in the same hospital- that’s unlucky or very negligent.

looks like their infection control could do with review

So, amid all the bitter criticism of the UK’s handling of the pandemic, it might just be that our approach hasn’t been quite such a disaster after all.

I’ve always felt, (purely on instinct, I have no expertise in this at all,) that aiming to minimise infections across the board by really drastic measures was probably only going to delay the inevitable, and that every nation would have to swallow the medicine sooner or later. We look to have taken ours sooner, at least according to this BBC piece.
