If the inmates are taught a trade or given skills to get a job on the outside then, that is a good thing.

The users of the labour should be made to pay the going rate which can go to the prison service to pay towards the upkeep of the prisoners.

It should also be voluntary for the prisoners - although I suspect many would do it to break the monotony of prison life. There could also be an incentive such as for every two days worked, we will knock a day off your sentance

This is true and another reason for being courteous and wearing a mask when out and about - not like some knuckle draggers who don’t realise that masks also help stop spreading their own bugs :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
