Far more likely to have the opposite effect, and tbh I doubt that Johnsonâs spin team donât know that.
Iâd never underestimate the loyalty of the Mail fanbase when it comes to giving that scruffy tramp a free pass.
I like this.
Not forcing you to have a jab, but limiting you doing harm to others.
Clear, simple
The Ayatollah got a scam test and trace text today
It told you to go to a website nhs.Uk.pcr-kit.co.Uk order a kit and pay for delivery (handing over your bank details) and to isolate
First the real NHS doesnât ask for payment, second, even though the web page looks convincing none of the links works
Watch out peeps, there be shitbags about
It was amusing watching the Ayatollah lose her shit thinking she would have to self isolate for 10 days meaning she would have to give up her spa day
Did you not think twice before enlightening her?
Just had to give a lateral flow test to my 87 year old uncle who is going to this wedding I am going to on Saturday. its his first ever test and not a pleasant experience for either of us.
came out negative so thatâs a positive.
It did pop into my head, but she was absolutely raging, and about to call everyone we know to accuse them of being plague rats
I rather like having friends and wanted to keep one or two
Probably should have gone on the annoyances thread.
Was at my local Sainsburyâs petrol station at 7am and as usual the forecourt and queue was full of tradesmen filling up and buying junk food - I saw two people wearing masks (me being one of them) despite Sainsburyâs asking people to be considerate and wear a mask.
I try to remember in supermarkets, but the other day I made it half way round before I realised I hadnt put it on - so not all of them are doing it deliberately
I think masks have run their course - people will become more and more used to not wearing them and being around other people not wearing them.
At some point they have to go - the question really is timing. Whatever the date there will be someone raging that it is too soon. The govt have done a great job of frightening the bejesus out of some people and they are unlikely ever to want to give them up.
âŠand I thought it was a documentary.
Or they canât read or missed the giant fuck off sign in the doorway asking them to please wear one inside?
As Iâve said before, I know someone who wonât take the jab. Newly married and punching a little bit above his weight. Iâm wondering whether the wife is some kind of black widow character that has secretly got the jab herself and is just letting nature take its course!
Maybe Covid related or money related
â⊠Ms Walker joined an agency, which she says has given her flexibility and the âslightlyâ better pay means she can work fewer hours.
She is inundated with requests to work at the minute.
âAll the hospitals are looking staff,â she saidâŠâ
âŠ.money related then?
Not sure the pay is only âslightly betterâ, but @Goatboy can probably confirm.
It occurs to me as the best way for the NHS to operate is to have there own âagencyâ - hire recruiters, run it as a commercial operation (profits can be recycled back into the nhs) and ban all private staffing companies
If you totalled the profits of all the private nursing recruiters we would all shit our pants
Their own agency is called âthe bankâ. Most hospitals have this.
Hospital hasnât got enough staff: first port of call is the bank where wages are more or less aligned with nhs rates but working hours are flexible to suit. Currently there is a slight bump in rates here due to fucking desperation. Winter plan is in operation already at SGH. Mrs G reckons itâ s ridiculous at the moment and is at severe risk of breaking completely.
Next port of call are agencies where rates are considerably higher.
Retiring/resigning staff can sign on with bank or agencies and earn more money for less hours with no commitment to a full working week. Better work/life balance and better money. No wonder people are leaving.
Sounds like the bank need to review how they are set up, services that they offer etc
Recruiters will be tearing the arse out of the NHS budgets -eg Elysium banked ÂŁ7m in EBIT last year
It really is money for old rope
Many years ago I had a few dalliances with some lovely nurses around Bristol. They would often do bank shifts when they were off from their full time shifts in order to earn some more cash. Back then, they could get double time for a sunday shift on any given ward in the BRI, if it suited them. It was a long time ago but back then i think it was better to do overtime on a bank shift than on a regular shift.
