I am always a bit suspicious of articles that link Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to vaccination in a less âflattering lightâ given they are the target for antivaxxer nonsense⊠What the KHF fails to acknowledge is the reason why they âmight interveneâ⊠given they have extensive experience of vaccine development and distribution, partnering with a global manufacturer was the only way accelerate this aspect during a pandemic⊠the rest is about the nature of the contract.
All academic institutions receive both public and private funding and this research would have attracted a lot of private equity, so any subsequent deal would be commercial in nature, unless Government had funded the entire research AND paid for global production and distribution, it was always going need Pharma to step in. As such, I am not sure what the âcritiqueâ by the KHF is looking to achieve?
