Yeay! My turn. :grinning:

That may well be right, they are politicians after all! They are lucky they can afford to wait though, for whatever reason. They have control over the virus, still under 1000 total deaths, whereas here the virus has control over us. Just been announced today that the UK has the highest death rate per capita in the world. We overtook the Czech Republic which had held the top spot since 11th January, after the government published the latest corona virus deaths on Sunday night. Somehow i doubt we shall see Johnson/Hancock boasting about this world beating achievement any time soon though.

Nah - Belgium is still ahead of us

The Mother In Law had her jab today - the Pfizer one. She was dead set on the Oxford one ā€œbecause it was Britishā€. Got told she can either have the Pfizer one or go and do one…or words to that effect.

Oh, how we laughed :joy:

Tell her the Pfizer one is the expensive Harrods one…The Oxford one is a Co-op special. That should make her feel better. :lou_lol:

Partner’s soon to be 81 year old dad still not. His 75 year old wife may get offered vaccine before him at this rate! Maybe there were a lot more over 80s in his area. One of his son’s and his 2 daughters in law have had the vaccine before him. All in their 40s. One if going to be involved in vaccine role out.

So have had a few discussions recently re people wanting to take their own risks and what’s the point of having a test if you’ll need hospital later anyway (the people you live with or in your bubble maybe?!?)

The impact of your choice is going to impact on many others.

We are going to have quite a traumatised population after all of this.

Yes I saw him on BBC News this evening pleading with people to take Covid seriously just minutes after his wife had died…heartbreaking. :sob:

This is being reported in most of the MSM.

You refering to the death rate for the last 7 days, or the cumulative rate since the beginning of the pandemic?

Quite. I’d imagine places like Brazil got an awful lot of deaths out of the way early, so there would be fewer high-risk potential fatalities left there now?

I was referring to a report in most media outlets which tells us the UK has the highest death rate per million people in the world, according to the past seven days of the latest data. That’s all.

OK. I was looking at the cumulative data.

I’ve been to Basingstoke and on that basis, I believe them.

Ths looks promising. Small dataset so far and only on the Pfizer vaccine but evidence that suggests that vaccination stops virus transmission.

Just heard one on my team lost her father to Covid in South Africa- she’s unable to fly home and quarantine in time for funeral. :frowning:

If this is true - then the argument for vaccine passports is going to be even stronger

And going back to the Pimlico chap insisting his workforce are vaccinated, how long before we see the first lawsuit against a company who sent a non vaccinated employee into some ones home and gave them Covid - there is going to be a real battle between personal choice and health and safety here.

Worldwide there have been more than enough vaccinations to have identified any serious side effects. This makes anti-vaxers excuses for not having them even more flimsy.

All this adds up to ā€œThem and Usā€ā€¦I wouldn’t want to be one of them.

Is there anybody here that is anti vaccine?
