:covid_19: đŸ˜· đŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ❓

Sadly very likely

Because of the “I’d know if I had it and I’d self-isolate wouldn’t I” justification. Ignoring the fact that they would be spreading the virus days before any symptoms arrive. They’re just selfish cunts who thought of a way to make the inexcusable sound reasonable.

Interesting article showing what happened in Sungapore when they locked up their migrant workers.

Pretty clear left on it’s own the virus is pretty “infectious”

BBC News - Covid-19: Singapore migrant workers infections were three times higher

Lol - and there were all the pundits shouting that we should have been more like Singapore

So we should have rounded up all non Brits, stuck them in accommodation barges and anchored them offshore until they died or recovered

This is the side of Singapore they try really hard to keep out of the public eye

The little englander mentality really doesn’t suit a global pandemic.
Looking at other countries actions is the only way.
Having said that, the clusterfvck UK approach IS doing better than Germany, France & Netherlands which is quite remarkable.

Yes, although “flu” mutates and demands specific vaccine types every year and i’m sure the same will have to happen with this type of coronavirus, but the emergence of a vaccine (and obvious subsequent improvements) will provide all (particularly the vulnerable) with a much better chance of defence against it. Nobody knows how it may / will mutate but it is important for the narrative to not be too “doomsday”.
The data needs to be specifically accurate though, else how are we to deal with this pathogen and not just see it as some sort of plague that causes shitloads of fear.
I have made no comment on individuals actions, so i’m not sure if your question is directed at me or is a general question. I assume the latter. But I neither know, nor care, about others as i can’t influence anyone else’s actions. I will do what i consider is right and correct, which for me this festive season is locking the door and telling the world to fucking do one, but i’m not going to get all wound up over perceived or real actions from some people (never good to generalise) as i don’t know their circumstance. Although there will always be cunts who will act like cunts, be they fly tippers, tailgaters, punchy wankers, skates or covid bastards.

If the spike proteins mutate enough to make the current mRNA vaccines ineffective they can be altered to recognise the new proteins in about 6 weeks.

Twitter reveals how it is tackling vaccine disinformation

In a blog post, the social media site has announced that as of next week it will be taking a number of steps to rid its platform of “misleading” information about COVID-19 vaccines.

Under the new plans, the site will require people to remove tweets such as:

  • False claims that suggest immunisations and vaccines are used to intentionally cause harm to or control populations, including statements about vaccines that invoke a deliberate conspiracy;
  • False claims which have been widely debunked about the adverse impacts or effects of receiving vaccinations; or
  • False claims that COVID-19 is not real or not serious, and therefore that vaccinations are unnecessary.

Twitter already has in place measures to tackle some disinformation about COVID-19, but the list has been expanded further to include posts about vaccines.

Santa Claus spreads Christmas cheer - and possibly COVID

A Santa and Mrs Claus have tested positive for coronavirus after taking part in an event with around 50 children in Georgia, US.

Children were allowed to take pictures with Santa.

The pair had not been displaying any symptoms at the time of the event, according to a social media post by the Long County Board of Commissioners.

Chairman Robert Parker said the incident should not be a “cause for panic” and added: "I want to further emphasize that no children were forced to attend the events and that choice was left solely in the hands their parents.

“I have personally known both ‘Santa’ and ‘Mrs Claus’ my entire life and I can assure everyone that they would have never knowingly done anything to place any children in danger.”

Yes, he nails it. Classic Johnson of course, ’ standing at the side to see which way the crowd is running, then jumping in front of them and shouting,“follow me”!
It’s easy to see why the government persistently refused to condemn Trump’s behaviour after the US elections, the claims of fraud, the ridiculous law suits trying to overturn the election result. They are singing from the Trump hymn sheet, following his blueprint. Tory activists are being told to openly lie and to weaponise fake news in a party newsletter. The trouble is, the Americans have finally got rid of Trump, sadly we’ve got another four years of this shithousery to put up with. Democracy my arse.

Macron has caught it

Is this a good thing? Discuss.

I knew he had a very keen interest in the future of their fishing success, but this is pretty bloody hands on commitment
