Gavin Williamson, aka Gareth from The Office is getting absolutely slaughtered after his comments on LBC this morning. When asked if Brexit had impacted the UK approving the vaccine before anyone else his reply was, '" we have the best medical regulators in this country. Much better than the French have, much better than the Belgians have, much better than the Americans have. That doesn’t surprise me at all as we’re a much better country than every single one of them, aren’t we?" Unbelievable! No wonder we are fast becoming a global laughing stock.
Some of them are today doubling down on the bare faced lie that the only reason we fast tracked the rollout was because we had left the EU. Even though it was made clear yesterday that any of the EU member states could have done it, but chose not to because the full safety data and clinical trial results have not yet been published by Pfizer, and neither has any technical analysis by the MHRA. Personally i have no doubts that the vaccine will be perfectly safe, but that’s not the issue here surely. Doing a rush job just so that Bodybag Johnson and his gang can childishly claim a world beating triumph is hardly going to increase peoples confidence in it, is it.
Possibly even more toe curling was Alok Sharma yesterday, the minister for business telling the nation, “In years to come, we will look back and remember this moment as the day the UK led humanity’s charge against this terrible disease”. Just sit back and let that sink in!
In Sharma’s world, credit for the new I Phone 11 shouldn’t go to the software engineers at Apple who created it, it should go to the sad halfwit who camped outside the store all night so that he could say he got the first one. FFS, I ordered a flat screen TV before my good mate Tony next door, that doesn’t mean i invented the fucker!

Iv’e just watched it now, he’s very good. I am puzzled though regarding the question of whether the UK alone had the option under European rules to fast track this unilaterally. I’v just checked again and the EU state categorically that all individual states had the same right as the UK to do so if they wanted to.
My beef is about the shocking jingoism and triumphalism of the UK government, especially Sharma yesterday with his ‘UK leading the charge for humanity’ nonsense, taking credit for something that they had nothing to do with, they were just going to be the first to roll it out. And then the next day we have another government minister insulting the scientists in Europe with more nationalistic bullshit, like a child in the playground. It’s been reliably reported that Johnson sounded out the possibility of each phial of vaccine to have a tiny Union Jack emblem on it, but this was quickly shelved. It’s embarrassing nonsense and smacks of a kind of desperation.
I really would like to see the phials have a ‘made in the EU’ logo, perhaps with a tiny Belgian flag!They won’t though of course, they have grown ups running the show, and judging by some of the comments coming out of Europe today they are treating this latest show of UK flag waving embarrassing nonsense with the contempt it deserves.

If anything, I’ve been disappointed by the lack of ambition with the vaccination conspiracy theorists.

It’s as if none of them remember seeing any films where genocidal supervillains are a thing. They’re talking about tracking and suchlike, as far as I’ve seen. Fuck me, think small.

Surely mass population reduction in line with Malthusian theory using a two-step poison is a better use of this opportunity for the moustache-twirling villains of this world?

I am all for the proliferation of anti vaccine news - preferably 60m will refuse the vaccine so I can then jump to the front of the queue - then they can see the light and get back in line
