Iāve just had a decorator in to do some work. I got chatting to him and it turns out heās a British Airways pilot whoās been furloughed earning a bit of extra cash.

It has now hit home. My colleague on another vessel was diagnosed with covid he was medi vacced of from EG to South Africa and was on oxygen for 2 weeks
Vessel was shut down and then sterilized before people allowed back onboard.

Quite scary, but worth putting into context.
Weāve had 19 deaths in the city recently due to COVID. There is a care home, not fifty yards from my house, which had more bodies pulled out of it during the earlier lockdown.
However, one of the worrying things about this latest outbreak is that seems to be hitting people that are much younger. Anecdotal reports from social media from people that work in health saying that there are plenty of twentysomethings being treated.
Thatās the thing Iāve been saying all along, itās not about the deaths itās about the NHS being overwhelmed with people needing treatment. And also the knock on effects to people who donāt have Covid who canāt get the treatment they need for their particular case.

Letās face it, Serco could shake out their trouser pockets and at least 5 million would drop out, which was the figure which caused the government to walk away. This junta in Downing St had no intention of reaching a deal, itās all about divide and rule. Burnham spoke superbly at his press conference, speaking truth to power eloquently. Laura Haw Haw was quick off the mark spinning for the government with her ridiculous suggestion that Burnham was ātoo proudā to negotiate properly. She, and the BBC current affairs dept are a disgrace.

To be honest mate itās nothing to do with being left wing, thatās just a distraction, a label they think they can use as a stick to justify their behaviour. This current situation is about right and wrong, basic decency and the responsibility the government have to all, regardless of social status. Letās see what Johnson offers London when they are forced into tier 3!
The Daily Mail comments are enlightening, a clear campaign to try and turn Burnham into Derek Hatton. Phrase like āLeft wing northern scumā are being thrown about.
They are getting the Ā£22m which is the base line aid for services - that was always going to happen
Burnham was haggling for a better deal than Liverpool and Lancashire - and has been told to fuck off. Apparently he can come back to the table if his expectations fall in line with existing deals - whether his can stomach that is another thing
I appreciate that he is trying to get the best deal for Manchester, but I am. Not sure why he thinks Manchester Should get more cash than other regions
