:covid_19: đŸ˜· đŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ❓

Fair point, and you’re right about that. It just strikes me that the experts keep saying, correctly I’m sure, that mortality outcomes depend hugely on peoples physical condition when they contract it. We aren’t a particularly fit nation, the Swedes are.

People are forced to go to work for a variety of reasons, stat sick pay for one.
People were putting their hands up to be furloughed as they thought it’d be easy to return.

Next.

Rubbish Barry

Don’t know what world you live in

One thats reality, people were foolishly made up (look at trying to get a builder) and got 3 months off not realising the tories are going to fuck them or their employers will when furloughing stops, nothing I said there is incorrect, I’d stop trying to be a clever bitch if I were you son.

The exact argument I’ve been having with people recently

Nobody likes a smart arse “Son” and you can stop being a “clever bitch” with the slagging off people and making out crass generalisations to be facts - which you still seem to do with monotonous regularity.

I managed to get builders, carpenters, tree surgeons and fencing guys through lockdown- maybe where you live is full of people who are happy to take advantage of the situation and may or may not come a cropper in the near future?

And less of the “Son” eh?

Truest thing you have ever said

Getting builders is difficult not because they don’t want to work its because so much money was being saved and people were at home and had money to spend they didn’t normally have, builders or good ones have been non stop and many not even picking up the phone as they’re so busy right until next year, after that I’d say they’ll be a tad quieter as all the money has gone.
People the whole Country over were made up at this 80% paid holiday, little do they realise.
I don’t slag people off, I think I’m known for that, I don’t vote down and I certainly don’t bitch incorrectly trying to point score.
My local timber and builders merchants are so busy they’ve closed the website and only taking phone orders so they can keep up with what they’re doing, he also said this will not continue as people will have to pay for it eventually.
Why was there no decking furniture or even fucking decking boards this summer?
Let me think. No one going on holiday so they’ll spunk it on something else.

Very true, a nation of selfish cunts, no social cohesion or civic duty.

Point of order. It was 80% up to a maximum of 2.5K p.c.m.

Still 2.5k for getting pissed in the garden, and many took it without a care in the World.

Many also took the money & went off and did “other work”

And many kept working because they got nowhere near 2 and a half grand a month.

And why shouldn’t the plebs get their whack? 15 billion and counting handed out to tory party donors and their companies for running test and trace, at which they have failed miserably, with reports of lots of it being funnelled offshore to the Caymans, Jersey and the like. 10 billion and counting doled out to some very questionable cowboy outfits to supply PPE, some of them one and two man shows with little or no registered assets and no employees, who just happen to be friends and colleagues of the prime minister and his crew. With a goodly proportion of the products they were contracted to supply being non existent or unfit for purpose. It all comes from the same pot, ie the public one. The rot, if there is any, starts at the top. If a handful of them are filling their boots why shouldn’t the rest of us get some crumbs.

Still paying the builders in cash to save the VAT, Barry?

I think you’re forgetting every single one of them faced redundancy and that 750k people have disappeared from company payrolls

Of course, who wouldn’t?

I’m not arguing that, I said people put their hand up thinking it would be a holiday, I don’t know what planet Cobham lives on but I’m imagining ducks ponds, cricket on the village green and a lovely local pub, that has fuck all relevance in todays World mind.

That is sort of on a tangent, people treated it as a holiday and a chance for new decking and an extension (builder and vat permitting), who’ll clean up when they can’t pay?

Of course they did but people were taking the scheme regardless as they were on 80%.
