:covid_19: đŸ˜· đŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ❓

Its just plain bullshit though isn’t it? We can’t even fulfill our testing capacity at 300000 per day currently. They may aswell just forget the lies and hand the billions straight to their
Cronies. Nobody believes them anymore.

Throwing money at imaginary technology. What can go wrong?

Isn’t that the definition of a moonshot - trying to do something that has never been done before

You are right though - they won’t get close

I am not defending the government. I might put down a different perspective. And I might take issue if I feel that the rhetoric is over the top.

Generally I am a fairly balanced pragmatic sort.

Technology has to start somewhere and not sure anything major ever invented without any cost.

Has to be judged right but if there is some hope of success it has to be worth exploring. Not defending Govt either but UK industry has a reputation for hi tech solutions

We’re 6 months down the line and still putting all hope on a miracle system that doesn’t exist. That’s the problem.

Rightly or wrongly we are where we are - what would you like them to do instead?

apart from resign

I’m not in charge of the country. All I know is that is the policy has been to get everyone back to school, work, out in the economy then there needs to be some way of ensuring safety - and despite the time that had lapsed there is absolutely nothing to to ensure people are safe other than some pie in the sky plan from some sort of science fiction novel. Right at the start of the outbreak WHO kept repeating “test, test, test”. It’s the only way to ensure safety. You can’t just put your faith in magic. They haven’t even managed to get the testing system right and now insult everyone by talking about futuristic testing that is impossible. I’m not happy with that. Yesterday they mentioned that they’re still something like 75k tests short of the capacity figure Johnson keeps using - well why? What’s happening to those tests?

All this nonsense Hancock says about the public are to blame for getting tested when they’re not infected - they told us to get tested.

If they can’t ensure that this virus won’t spread like wildfire again then they need to have a plan to keep us safe, which they don’t have and instead just talk shit that some people seem happy with. Stop telling people to go to work, stop opening schools that can’t maintain social distance and safe protocols and support people who need help with lost income

Nutshell.

Can i have one of the contracts for operation moonshot? I don’t actually have any spaceships but i do have an old bicycle.
This announcement is typical Johnson, just spouts any old bullshit that Cummings feeds him. 100 billion of public money up for grabs, I bet Serco, G4S etc are beside themselves with excitement, trebles all round in boardrooms around the world.
This is the thing with conservatives, eventually they run out of somebody else’s money!

It may as well be called Operation Cumshot as it will all end up in a big, sticky mess over someones face.

We are not hitting capacity for testing as we don’t have the laboratory capacity to analyse results or the infrastructure in place so that tests can be administered as locally as is optimal. Its not as though we’ve had 6 months to sort that out is it? Mrs G started a 21 day saliva test pilot on Tuesday. If that proves feasible it will solve the lab/analysis issues and will enable more home testing. But thats a big if and some way off. And it won’t cost anywhere near 100billion no matter what any of the cunts tell you.

But where is the mass condemnation? I can’t even blame the MSM who we know are sucking off Boris and his chums as their arch capitalist proprietors are all benefitting from the mates policy decisions
but is the backlash from the electorate on thsi obvious corrupt and incompetent shiftiest? For em the lack of it is all that is wrong with this country, but I won’t repeat my thoughts on the reasons why

Just been out for a walk along the prom at Avon Beach stopping off for lunch at The Oak in Bank. Nice lunch, well organised social distancing etc but noticed a young couple eating at a table in the garden. As we left I thought I’d go over and gave them a roasting.

“This is all your fuckin’ fault you mean, miserable, inconsiderate bastards!”

They were shocked
but it needed to be said.

And how could they afford to eat and drink there, of all places, on their government handouts?

Pity I didn’t think of that at the time
they got off lightly.

Not sure the MSM are sucking off Boris - he is getting pelters from the right leaning crew about this new lockdown, quarantine, air corridors, not getting people back in the office etc

Boris’ issue is that one side want a quick move back to normality and the other wants more caution and more financial support etc

Now that would take a particularly skillful politician to tiptoe through that maze - unfortunately we ain’t got one

What the fuck are you doing out of your home

If you old fuckers stayed inside and weren’t so bloody fragile we would be all fine and dandy
