Could be worse…

Well that’s that moral dilemma kicked into the long grass.

I thought I remembered the app being one of the conditions of loosening restrictions.

Then again I thought we were meant to fall below threat level 4 too.

Faced with the most serious threat to public health in modern times we are faced with ā€œĀ©World Beatingā€ incompetence.

Some positive news…

Worth remembering that level 3 still sounds scary as fuck…

Level 1 - not known to be present in the UK
Level 2 - present in the UK, but number of cases and transmission is low
Level 3 - epidemic is in general circulation
Level 4 - transmission is high or rising exponentially
Level 5 - Risk of healthcare is overwhelmed

Don’t get the comment re tests - the US have performed More tests per million that most major nations and the most absolutely

Only Donald could have turned that slump in infection rate around…tremendous tremendous effort Donny.

Big shock for Tennis as was Nick Watney for the Golfers on Friday.

BBC News - Coronavirus: Germany outbreak sparks fresh local lockdown

A wise person would note the surge in outbreaks at meat processing plants and reduce 2 things.

  1. Warmer temperatures & daylight might have helped reduce the infection rate after all
  2. More importantly, it would be wise to stock the freezer with meat products before prices rise or worse, the supply rate declines.

An interesting article in our trade press about positive results following antibody tests. Putting it up only because it is interesting to see that over half of this company employees and families have had the virus at some time in the past, with the vast majority not knowing they were infected. Could the virus been present for longer than it thought? Who knows, but scaled up antibody testing could throw up some important national and local answers.

Mum works in a school in Holbury - last week her school had a case in one of the groups, and the group was quarantined. It turned out a whole family of 6 had it - the only reason they knew was because the father was a paramedic and is being regularly tested. No-one else had any symptoms whatsoever.

I know many, many people who are convinced they had it last year, around November and December - flu like they’ve never known before and all the symptoms.

Its a bit mad - this disease may have been around for a long time without anyone realising…

There’s certainly lots of anecdotal evidence of something nasty doing the rounds during the latter part of last year and the early part of this. I know quite a few who had what they consider to be something more than just seasonal colds / mild flu before, over and just after Christmas.
It will be interesting to see, in the fullness of time, whether their assumptions are correct.
Some people at work were quite rough during this time. If they had it, i’m pretty sure i would have got it. The only symptoms i had was a day in February with really rough guts (i’ve since read that the virus can exist in the stomach as well) and i stunk the office out with a particularly heinous crap, so i decided to go home for the rest of the day and sleep it off. Of course this could have been a midweeker mix of a load of guiness and a prawn jalfrezi!

And another one from the PGA tour…

Just posted on Happy Golf. It’s a lot worse.
Hilton Head was a joke players tweeted about nobody in community taking care.
Then other players came in from outside the bubble.
Week before in Texas they had shortages of PPE
Think they are fooked.
All eyes on European Tour now & their version of protocols before the UK Swing starts

Why did you even bother?
