Lockdown started on 23rd Marchā¦certain extra restrictions would be placed to those people identified as being at greater risk and would be notified in a letter from the NHS. They should not leave their dwelling place and avoiding any face to face contact with others outside their home.
Yesterday, 79 days into the lockdown and 20 day before restriction for frontline vulnerables to be lifted, my wife gets her letter from the NHS informing her she has been identified as front line vulnerable.
I agree with you @CB-Saint, I canāt understand why we are obsessed in this country with re-inventing the wheel all the time when elsewhere in the world is a working example. Surely we just use that ?

So if shutting down 1 week earlier might have halved the number of deaths, what might it have done for the depth of economic contraction and the speed of our recovery?
But thatās not surprising surely? This recession has simply been caused by lockdown. Itās not some long term economic decline that was in place causing problems - it was the almost overnight shutdown of shops and businesses.
