:covid_19: 😷 šŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ā“

Ah, so this absolute shit show is all the fault of the scientific advisors, hand picked by Johnson and co. Nothing to do with us guv! One eye on the day of reckoning already, fall guys being set up. This will be their story and I’m sure they will be desperately sticking with it. It’s all they’ve got. Advisors advise, governments decide. Johnson won’t willingly take any responsibility, why change the habit of a lifetime. Accountability is only for successes, not failures. Especially epic failures which result in the deaths of ten’s of thousands of people, and a wrecked economy, and now, three months later the infection rate rising and the likelihood of being back where we started. The shit we are in now is a direct result of decisions made by Johnson in March, April and May. Every decision made flew in the face of everything being done by the rest of the world, most of whom have the epidemic under control. No wonder they have started scrabbling around looking to pass the buck, I bet Johnson, Cummings and co are shitting themselves, they have lost control of this crisis and are making it up as they go along. Beneath contempt, lower than fucking vermin.

I don’t disagree, and I have been vehemently opposed to this Government, however, try and read the reports as a level-headed individual, and don’t take into account the fact that the people running the country are odious cunts.

What about blind men?

All the way through this the government have had advice from scientists, much of it contradictory with differing advice. The government’s job is to weigh up the advice and decide what they will go with. It’s on them. I see Hancock was on his own today, i’m not surprised after the disgraceful decision to ignore Whitty and Vallance’ advice and ease the lockdown measures despite still being at level 4. Whitty spelt out unequivocally that this was ā€˜a political decision, not based on the science’. Which as we know was made, on the hoof, to distract from the Cummings furore and get him off the front pages. From the word go they have ignored all science followed successfully by the majority of the rest of the world, who are now starting to get their lives back to some semblance of normality, which for us is starting to look further away than ever. A complete shitshow, and any attempt by the government to deflect responsibility on to their advisors for decisions they were solely responsible for will surely be seen for what it is. Weak, dishonest and cowardly.

They’ll never see it coming.

Well Trump tells us the virus is ā€œmean and nastyā€, almost human like qualities, so even if you can’t see it I bet the crafty little bastard will start humming the theme from Jaws as it approaches.

If only someone had pointed this out earlier :lou_facepalm_2:

It even says it produces a barrier to reduce the spread of infectious droplets.

BBC News - Coronavirus: WHO advises to wear masks in public areas

Just imagine a Bation where the Government worked for, with & listened to their people.
And compare the UK shit show to this

BBC News - Coronavirus: How map hacks and buttocks helped Taiwan fight Covid-19

Utterly fucked off with the sheer volume of idiots ignoring social distancing. Am out for a walk and it’s no exaggeration to say over 50% of people are either in close huddled groups of adults and/or don’t give a shit about walking past me, or anyone else, at 50cm.

Not everything is down to the Govt FFS

Anyone else see the (normally well prepared, quite polished) Andy Burnham, mayor of Manchester, on TV this morning? Was being asked about the rising ā€˜R’ rate in the NW, as he apparently wanted more localised lockdown decisions.

Interviewer: is the rising rate due to the failure of people to stick to the lockdown rules, or the easing of lockdown?

AB: oh certainly the easing by the Govt. The great majority of people here follow the rules.

Interviewer: OK so what lockdown rules would you revert to?" he was asked.

AB: We need more localised data, to show the hotpots of infection. The Govt has to share more of its data that it holds.

Interviewer: OK, assuming you get more data, what lockdown provisions would you change?

AB: Well until we get more data from this Govt, its difficult to say.

Interviewer: Why is it difficult to say? You already have data to say the R rate is rising locally. You say its because lockdown has been eased. What would you change?

Four times he avoided the question.

Yep easy to blame the Govt for easing lockdown (if that’s the cause) and for not sharing more localised data. Not so easy to be the one to call for tougher restrictions for your local voters than apply anywhere else.

So how many of this lot will blame the government when we get a second wave?

Agreed.

ā€œIrresponsibleā€ doesn’t begin to cover it. I could understand it if they were protesting to our own parliament about the actions of our police or security forces, but how many of these people have been campaigning, for example, for gun control in America? Firearms account for far more avoidable deaths of innocent people there than the police do.
