:covid_19: 😷 šŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ā“

I’ve read this theory elsewhere and given it a lot of thought. I can’t bring myself to 100% believe it. Surely they wouldn’t jeopardise the lives of thousands… Millions… just to protect one person? They could easily accept his resignation and then employ him elsewhere a few months down the line and no one would notice or give a shit.

Anyway, I was watching the press briefing today in part laughing at the questions asked by journalists - they’ve had enough I think. Some good questions today, just bullshit and evasion from the PM. But the other part of me was thinking, why are we coming out of lockdown when every single sentence coming from whiity and vallance is about how high the risk is and that we’re a whisker away from a R value greater than 1. It doesn’t make sense to me.

And here is my woman, Devi, backing me up. It’s too early to ease lockdown. Other countries across Europe are only easing now, we can’t be at the same stage as them. Others like South Korea have had to reimplement restrictions because of spikes. Why are we different? This is insane

I think you are being too kind to them. Jeopodising the lives of thousands just doesn’t come into their thinking, the hard truth is that they don’t care. Look at the ITV report regarding care homes, reports coming in tonight that the government rejected a radical lockdown of care homes at the beginning of April to 'stem surging care home corona virus deaths, including staff moving in for four weeks and deploying NHS Nightingale hospitals. An 11-point plan proposing a ā€œfurther lockdown of care homesā€ was submitted to Downing St by Public Health England as fatalities peaked and the virus spread to half of care homes in the worst affected areas.Ministers were urged to ā€œuse NHS facilities and other temporary accomodation to quarantine and isolate residentsā€. But none of the proposals, recommended as ā€˜high impact’ were acted on. At least 16,000 care home residents have perished, in reality the figure will be much higher.
Given that Johnson announced the replacement of ā€˜stay at home’ with the nonsensical ā€˜stay alert, and the changes to allow unlimited travel were made without consultations with the scientific advisors, is it likely that it’s just a coincidence that they were made at a time when Downing St were coming under pressure from The Guardian/Mirror to explain Cummings’ lockdown jaunts, and were clearly intending to expose them? It is unpalatable to think that our own government would put aside what is the right thing to do by the people of this country during a pandemic like this in favour of looking after their own selfish interests and cliques, but sadly no other explanation makes any sense. Remember this is Dominic Cummings we are talking about, the man who told a private audience that pensioners dying as a result of the strategy to protect the economy was ā€œtoo badā€.

Good to see the ā€˜Reverse Cowgirl’ position being recommended. Aah, what memories!

… once again I will use the Euromomo.eu data that illustrates the current excess deaths over seasonal adjusted norms… the rest of Europe have removed lockdown, only when the death rate was back within the normal average… UK was still in well above average zone… you will notice for many countries, their death rates are now actually lower than season average, as the virus has in effect ā€˜euthanised’ many old and sick, and shortened their lives… In UK, we this was inevitable the moment some cunt decided to send folks back to care homes…

One question I keep asking is why Dominic Cummings changed his blog on the day he got back from Durham.

After careful consideration, the only conclusion I can conjure is that he did so not to appear prescient, as has been suggested. I think it’s all about not wanting to be seen as Mr Herd Immunity, or associated with the quote from the Sunday Times, ā€œif some pensioners die, too badā€

Well, it was more than some pensioners. It’s tens of thousands. We will probably never know the full scale.

Well we will know the total number of excess deaths over normal seasonal average… IMHO, (as what they have done i Belgium which is why heir figures are so high) is that ALL excess deaths during this period can be attributed to COVID-19, as if you dot get tretemnemt for other diseases because of lack of resource, taht is also an extra death due to piss poor COVID planning / or policy…

Currently waiting on his @pap -ship to give me access to our Twitter account.

Some twat for my his password.

Me too.

It’s an odd one f’sure.

Infact, I’ve never NOT been able to see embedded media in a Tweet. I can’t reproduce it.

I think the government (seemingly) dodging the Cummings bullet will result in more instances of journalists treating government spokespeople in this aggressive way.

They are angry. Thank fuck for that.

It’s very erratic…some can be viewed perfectly others…like this.

Dominic Cummings in definite travel breach. Identified in the crowd at an Aussie rugby match

Edit: an Aussie paid $12 to sort that

Repurposed from my own FB:-

So after that eye accident last year, I don’t reckon I’m ever driving again. You have to be able to read a number plate at 20 metres. I reckon I’m good at about 12, maybe 15 max.

I relay the sad news Gingora

She says ā€œIt’s okay. We’ll drive up to that castle and just check!ā€
