If you have to issue a statement to explain the confusion caused by a slogan then it is the wrong slogan…

…unless you want confusion.

It’s like some evil version of Call My Bluff.

Robert Robinson: Well I don’t know how you pronounce it but Stayalert, Stayall-ert Stale-Lert. Frank Muir…

Frank Muir: A Stay Alert, as it’s pronounced, is a phrase or slogan that gives a government, during a pandemic, the freedom to claim, retrospectively, that they warned the population not to do the things they had simultaneously given them permission to do. A modern-day Double Speak if you will…

Cunts.

Exactly that. Just absolute vile fucking cunts.

It seems to me that this was leaked to the press so that the “government” could gauge the reaction to it and adjust their message accordingly.

The devolved nations have scorned it, the Mayor of Liverpool has scorned it and then, half way through the day, despite not having actually said anything they’ve had to clarify the message…

It’s all a bit of a joke IMHO

Even the wording of the clarification is about as clear as non-Heisenberg crystal meth…

It’s almost as if no-one trusts the government.

I can’t understand that…they’re doing a grand job…of fuckin’ the oldies over.

Matthew Parris wrote a piece in The Times this week which absolutely ripped Johnson apart. As part of it he reproduced verbatim Johnson’s reply to Starmer at virtual PMQs on Friday after Starmer asked him why the government decided to set up a test and trace system at the beginning of March and then abandoned it a few weeks later. His reply was absolute meaningless nonsense, which of course he would have got away with under normal PMQ times, he would have turned around to the braying buffoons behind him, whipping them up, but alone, face to face, he is exposed as a complete and utter tool. Read it and weep.

“A-a-as I think is readily apparent, Mr Speaker, to everybody who has studied the, er, the situation, and I think the scientists would, er, confirm, the difficulty in mid-March was that, er, the, er, tracing capacity that we had — it had been useful … in the containment phase of the epidemic er, that capacity was no longer useful or relevant, since the, er, transmission from individuals within the UK um meant that it exceeded our capacity. … [A]as we get the new cases down, er, we will have a team that will genuinely be able to track and, er, trace hundreds of thousands of people across the country, and thereby to drive down the epidemic. And so, er, I mean, to put it in a nutshell, it is easier, er, to do now — now that we have built up the team on the, on the way out — than it was as er, the epidemic took off …”

So he means, we only had a dish cloth to staunch a torrential flood but now we’re up to our neck in bodies we are equipped with a mop to tidy up afterwards. Bravo!

Not REALLY bad news just lockdown eased too early.

And that is a real Social Disorder problem now.
You give a sniff of freedoms and take them away again.
The utter IMBECILE who leaked that shit to the press last week (and the Press for constantly pushing easing could have a lot to answer for if we lockdown a second time

I’m panic buying eye drops tomorrow in order to stay alert!

So, you all know how I hold my CiL in high esteem. The :cockwomble: has atually managed to out do even himself.

We have a drive through testing centre locally, he decided the other day (VE Day) that he wasn’t feeling brilliant so he drove to the testing centre to get himself tested. Unsurprisingly it came back negative.

Apart from him being a fucknut I really thought that you had to show some sort of symptoms to get tested, obviously not…

The lies just roll off his tongue as naturally as breathing. “We are testing hundreds of thousands of people every day”. How is he still getting away with this stuff?

I think that was an aspiration not a statement of what we are currently doing
