There’s a simple solution. The EE states should just switch to Vodafone or O2.
it has got nothing to do with corona virus, but then nor has a large part of this thread, but I thought I would just say it is perfectly possible to disagree without resorting to insults
Guys, please stop the petty insults and arguments or I shall move everything that is off topic to the beef thread to let you carry on there.
Thanks
Yeah come on guys. You’re all being massive cunts.
That my job
I thought there was advise from the WHO (I know, I know) that wearing masks couldn’t stop you getting infected…
The World Health Organization has held off from recommending people wear face masks in public after assessing fresh evidence that suggested the items may help to contain the pandemic.
The WHO reviewed its position on masks in light of data from Hong Kong indicating that their widespread use in the community may have reduced the spread of coronavirus in some regions.
But in updated guidance published on Monday, the organisation maintained that while masks could help limit the spread of the disease, they were insufficient on their own. There was no evidence that wearing a mask in the community prevented healthy people from picking up respiratory infections including Covid-19, it said.
Prof David Heymann, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, who chaired the WHO’s scientific and technical advisory group for infectious hazards, said that unless people were working in healthcare settings, masks are “only for the protection of others, not for the protection of oneself”.
The committee acknowledged the virus can be transmitted by people who do not have symptoms, but said the virus must still spread via droplets or contaminated surfaces, which physical distancing and handwashing are intended to minimise.
According to the updated advice, people with coronavirus symptoms should wear a face mask, self-isolate and seek medical advice as soon as they start to feel unwell, while those caring for them should wear a face mask when they are in the same room.
The WHO guidance on healthy people wearing masks in public appears to conflict with recent advice from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which urged the US public to wear cloth face coverings in pharmacies, groceries and other public places where physical distancing can be hard to maintain.
We have a big advantage, the National DNA, and it is (was) something I talked about as part of my tour guiding.
DNA comes from
Although numbers are declining, The Church is still a huge part of the DNA of Poland (and EEU).
Poland is still a largely Rural Country, yet unlike UK & others, Village Life means Village Shops, Village Post Offices AND Industry/Businesses in the Villages (from Car Repairs to Building Material Supplies)
“Multi-generational Housing” - my new word this month - ie EXTENDED families in the Villages living in big houses.
A Family home is - a HOME. It is NOT a Financial Instrument. The HOME has been handed down for 3 to 10 generations - so in Villages, the same families have lived next door to each other since forever.
Now all of that (outside the big Cities) gives a spirit of COMMUNITY. So with Lockdown - in Rural locations we were already looking out for one another, but most importantly we do things FOR the community. Isolate to keep the Community Safe MEANS something here.
I think back to Dubai and in 25 years & 10 addresses I only ever met ONE set of neighbours. Here everyone knows everyone (and they all laugh at me bumbling round). And EVERYONE knows which members of the Village have someone at risk.
So.
Have we got a magic cure? No. Here, and other parts of EEU simply GET IT. We aren’t “Uber Mensch” we are keeping our Village Safe. The only victims we have had were newbies who bought land off a farmer and built their own house last year and never actually integrated. They’re not back yet (Skiing in Italy probably did for them) maybe they’ll never be back.
IF you have to Protect a Community you act VERY differently than if you are trying to make money or are “dispossessed” by The Community.
You SELFISH Cvnt.
Again, it is not rocket science, it is not about protecting YOU. It is about reducing the volume AND range of any aerosol dispersal should YOU be Asymptomatic.
Even a face scarf can reduce the “spray” by 30% then that has reduced the risk TO OTHERS.
But then “Selfish” is what I’d expect of Boris et al, Not “Community Safety”
Make it so.
Please.
Done,
Now all three of you please continue your “discussion” over there.
Thanks
Cheers Bob.
This is very sad and very sobering.
In reverse order, from bottom to top, look at the last 3 tweets from this fellow Saints fan.
Mark leaves a 5 month old child.
RIP Mark.
This is like Peter Sutcliffe thanking his arresting officer rather than just not killing prostitutes in the first place
My missus has just been on a cycle ride whilst I stayed behind with the kids. She said at one point she was passed by a group of 20 people coming the other way…
I think people are starting to get a wee bit complacent and will find the police/government cracking down further soon.
Sorry have to disagree… these things should be visible for all to make up their own minds. Once again its airbrushed out and we have the one who started it all playing the innocent and applauding… One can only assume he is glad the embarrassing contributions are no longer available within a prominent thread… But then again, its what to expect when its his ball…
Absolutely. I’d also venture to suggest that the UK population is comparatively “soft”, health wise. Whereas most Eastern Europeans I know are anything but.
As to the community thing, Japan has one of the highest median ages, I think second only to Monaco (quelle surprise,) but they’ve had a very low death rate from covid.
I’m very offended and very amused. It’s a peculiar state of zen. I suggest others try it.
That’s bloody awful, this is a fucking nightmare.
Well you’ll be pleased to hear that I disagree with your disagreement, it’s not about “hiding” things, it’s about stopping other members getting annoyed with the tediousness of it all for those not involved…
