The problem with this is all countries are in an arms race to get this stuff - who would you agree to supply first - the people paying up front or those who ask for credit
And had those tests been working and we hadnât secured them, that twat would have been the first to be bitching
Guess what - we have pissed more money up the wall than ÂŁ20m
We are throwing billions about trying to get on top of this - normal procurement procedures have been put on hold for now

You see I have less of a problem with the fact that they took a punt on these, itâs the fact that they formed part of Johnsonâs narrative. They werenât even in the country, hadnât been tested for efficacy and still Johnson span a bogus claim out of it.
Yet British officials took the deal, according to a senior civil servant involved, then confidently promised tests would be available at pharmacies in as little as two weeks. âAs simple as a pregnancy test,â gushed Prime Minister Boris Johnson. âIt has the potential to be a total game changer.â

I think the actions of the OB are the worst thing about it. Theyâre not enforcing shit. Theyâre just there enmasse putting on a fucking light show, probably infecting half the Met in the process.
If you ever thought that the plot of Die Hard 3 feasible (e.g. misdirect the limited resources of the authorities) then itâll be even more feasible in about three weeks time.
