Having just read that I really don’t want to go to the pub quiz tonight.
What to do…hmmmm
Again, This really should be placed in context. Yes they are struggling and they even make the point about this not being a 3rd world country… no because if it was people could be having blood poor from every orifice through ebola, and we would not give a shit… there would be 1000’s dying each day from malnutrition, and preventable diseases, and we would not give any fucks… I am not trying to belittle the situation which is serious for those impacted and a stretch for some health resources to be able to deal with it… and unlike Africa and other developing world countries, we have a very high proportion of elderly and infirm patients… which the system struggles to cope with anyway, let alone when the system is stretched through seasonal flu or in this case a viral entity that infects a larger proportion… but as is typical with twitterazi, there is no validation or references, nor do those that reply do so with any - lots of ‘panic’ but little data… If you want information, go to the WHO sites and not Twitter.
Seems the Government’s seeming inactivity is down to financial concerns.
Yeah a few extra dead oldies is seen as a win/win scenario.
“only” another 54 today - 373 in total
To be fair I thought we were in for a much bigger jump

Here comes the madness! But we have a choice
A rare weekend post from me, but I felt duty bound to raise this. I was visiting Sainsbury’s this morning where I picked up my usual Saturday Starbucks latte. My wife asked me to pick up a few things and I detected the beginnings of panic buying. Not unsurprisingly the soap aisle was already wiped out but I noticed that the toilet paper aisle was also under attack. When will people realise that we live in a supply chain economy that works on the basis of regular consumption and resupply. There will be enough for everybody when we consume at an average rate. By panic buying we disrupt the entire supply flow and by hoarding we create supply shortages that do not need to exist. Yes the Coronavirus is a serious public health issue, and yes we may need to self isolate if we develop symptoms but for 14 days max, and not 14 weeks. The shops are full and will stay full if we consume normally. If self isolating we can order online or ask a friend to do a shop for us. Please let sense prevail. Buy only what you need and the shelves will remain full. Panic and you set forth a cascade which will ultimately end in state controls. You have a choice and it starts with each of us
How dare you post such a load of sense?
Lots of possible/(maybe)probable, but apparently not
And no answer to the question of why you believe China is responsible.
If looked at historically, these kind of problems seem to follow capitalism and it’s demands.
“COVID-19 can’t be understood without taking into account the ways in which China’s last few decades of development in and through the global capitalist system has molded the country’s health care system and the state of public health more generally. The epidemic, however novel, is therefore similar to other public health crises that came before it, which tend to be produced with nearly the same regularity as economic crises, and to be regarded in similar ways within the popular press—as if they were random, “black swan” events, utterly unpredictable and unprecedented. The reality, however, is that these health crises follow their own chaotic, cyclical patterns of recurrence, made more probable by a series of structural contradictions built into the nature of production and proletarian life under capitalism”
P.S it’s quite long.
More codshite tinfoil sites.
You haven’t read it, have you?
All flights to Italy AND Frankfurt from Krakow have been cancelled.
At least someone is trying to protect their population.
Its an opinion that echos yours, not an authority.
The historical references they use are correct, but you’d know that if you had bothered reading it.
Get out of your bubble and explore other possibilities. It will help with your probabilities.
