In fairness, considering how little testing UK has done, that 50k figure is always likely to be people getting it bad (& private tests).
The actual # infected is likely to be WAY higher than 50k.
Equally it will be a damning stat for the legacy of the herd idea on the inquiry…

To be fair, we have less confirmed cases because we have not tested as many… probably better to see total tests carried as a percentage of population

EDIT; did not see Polskis post

Devine Judgement indeed… don’t wish ill on anyone, but why do these religious fundamentalists insist on spouting fucking nonsense about things they know fuck all about… ?

If anything I reckon its under-reported. These are hospital deaths remember. Deaths in the community are not being counted.

Lol - and what have you been up to

It’s not the way they see it, is it?

They think they have the answers to everything, and that the answer to everything lies in sin or God’s displeasure with us.

No idea whether this was true or not, but apparently, the Catholic church had a bit of a thing against cats, Satan’s animals apparently, and arranged various purges. One of these coincides with bubonic plague, so they started killing the only effective defence (cats) against the carriers (rats).

If we take the 2% average, I would suggest that 250k people have it in the UK - I would also suggest that most of them caught it at the Cheltenham Festival

I am also suspicious about how the deaths are recorded. Who is dying of Covid and who is dying of something else but also had Covid. I suspect all the governments are recorded that differently.

its complicated, as there are both WHO and local guidelines on how such things are recorded, especially in those with underlying conditions… think its been covered before, but there wont be any ā€˜cover-up’ of actual numbers, but there will still be variance as a result of your underlying disease. Eg. Every week many people die of pneumonia, contracted as a breakthrough infection due to being immunocompromised as a result of age, cancer treatment, respiratory tract infection… COPD etc. I suspect these deaths are recorded as either pneumonia OR in some cases the underlying disease… So we would really also need to understand the definitions used by countries as to whether a death is recorded as pneumonia or COVID-19 t get a true picture by country

What is also still unclear is whether there is any immunity after being infected. There were reports from china of folks who had recovered and had zero vial load, then being reinfected… but no longer contagious…

Fucking with them on that

Where’s France in that list? Or Italy? Or Spain?

Seems to be a select few just to make it look worse.

Also, we haven’t been testing anywhere near the number other countries have.

I see Mercedes re engineered CPAP device has been approved and is being knocked out at 1000 per day

They are also releasing the designs and methods globally for free

And in true F1 style it uses 70% less oxygen than previous devices so should ease pressure on that supply chain

The lad’s got a Twitter account.

Twitter has a reply function.

Go ask him.

Cool - you don’t stand behind the stuff you post then?

I rarely use Twitter - it’s full of preening wannabe popular kids who count their retweets, favourites and followers like badges of honour. I guess it’s for the kids who were unpopular at school that want to relive that part of their life again. There’s some useful news tidbits in there, but you have to wade through a huge amount of shit to find it.

Spain is 10%, Italy 12%. France 9% Netherlands 11% Belgium 9% Sweden 7%

I didn’t ā€œpostā€ it. I put someone’s Tweet on here.

RT’s don’t equal endorsement.

You know what I think? I think you don’t really care what the numbers in Italy or Spain are, beyond their capacity to start a row on here.

Prove me wrong. Ask him. I won’t see it of course.

Cool, perhaps @pap should fact check before just posting shit willy-nilly that he finds on Twitter.

Who’s causing a row. You posted a tweet from someone - I ask a question about where other countries are, and yet again you can’t just answer like a normal person. That chip on your shoulder just seems to get bigger every day, angry man.
