Fair enough… but how many sets of disposable masks and gloves does everyone have?

Lammy studied law and was a barrister.
Pretty sure we’ve all said something is criminal.

I.e. it is criminal how much you play games on your PC or make your family listen to loud ACDC

Great memory considering she would have been 2 or 3 years old at the time.

I’ve stopped watching it, just read about it afterwards. Getting so tired of the lies they tell, and no journalists with the gonads to call them out. I know their questions are vetted and approved beforehand, but it is still live, just ditch the question they were allowed to ask and instead ask whoever is the government spokesman of the day, " Why did Michael Gove - Hancock - Johnson etc stand up here yesterday and tell a bare faced lie"? Of course they would never be called to ask a question again, and would probably kiss goodbye to their career.

that is not something that she can be accused of these days, unfortunately

Flights arriving at Heathrow before 6 pm today.
Madrid -12, L A - 7, N Y -10, Seattle - 4, Paris - 9, Rome - 5.
All arriving without any health checks whatsoever and disappearing to all points of the UK.
A Heathrow spokesman when asked to comment on this said," Any passenger arriving from an affected country should follow the advice of the UK Government which is available on their website".
What on earth is the point of the rest of us self isolating? Madness.

So why the fuck is he calling Premier League footballers ā€œcriminalā€ for not accepting a 70% pay cut?

Given the sums involved, I think we can all agree that it is fucking distasteful, and shows extremely poor form on behalf of any footballer actively refusing to some sort of cut to save the non-playing staff.

Criminal? Nah. No-one’s going to be nicking them.

I did know about Lammy’s background. That’s what made my comment so juicy and his stance such a ridiculous monument to hyperbole.

He knows it’s not criminal, just as he knows all Brexit voters aren’t fascists.

The real question to ask about David Lammy is why does he chat such shit?

How much of a pay cut is he taking?

The rest of us are

I’ve asked him.

The Premier League have done exactly the right thing today. They gave 2 fingers to the knee jerk idiots and ensured a sensible plan to disperse reduced players salary where the Nation & Lower Leagues need it.
Utter shambolic yet typical bullshit film flame from Hancock last night point scoring sound bites vs PLANNING.

Equally, as DAZN & BeIN Sports France withhold rights payments the EPL make sure that money doesn’t go back to owners or into transfer budgets.

Sadly if w elect a ā€˜leader’ who is from the same cultish mould as Trump, and who is really just a puppet for the right wing despicable humans like Bannon and Cummings, we can’t really expect anything else… ā€˜Great’ Britain will end up being in isolation long after the rest of the world is getting back to normal… well we would be if we had the discipline to do so… sadly I think our high percentage of resident fucktards will be back at Pubs, race courses and riding the tube no matter what ā€˜advice ’ is issued form the lips of our ā€˜leaders’ who have no credibility what so ever… or from Laura ā€˜sorry let me wipe Boris’ jizz off my chin and I will be right with you’ Kuenssberg…

I think it might be worth remembering how Trump and Johnson gained power.

Both were given all the ammunition they needed by their political opponents to destroy them.

Trump had the benefit of running against Hillary, someone who’d been around long enough to leave a more impressive trail of wreckage than Trump did with his scam business ventures.

Johnson had the benefit of running against a Labour Party that had u-turned on its heels and was openly, proudly and embarrassingly abrogating democratic principles in addition to putting forward a Brexit plan dismantled in a soundbite.

I am not interested in having a row, but I would suggest that you can’t really attribute characteristics to voters without dispassionately considering their motives.

But yet you make the same assumptions as to voter motivations as I do… you assume they did so out our some deep concerns over the principles of democracy … I admire your faith in them… my assumption is just different, that majority did it for selfish motivations… ā€˜ā€˜My life is shit after 10 years of austerity, must be foreigners and EU… Boris does not like EU, vote Boris and my shit will smell of roses and life will be sweet’’

Have you seriously never heard of figurative speech?

Yes. I’ve heard of rhetoric too. Literal Lammy is in his own little bracket, a one-man cache of ammunition that the Tories can use in electoral warfare.

Calling 17.4m people fascist when you’ve got a national profile is not a figure of speech. It’s a media hungry politician who wants attention, and doesn’t care much how he gets it, thrown up on potentially Labour voting doorsteps.

Let me frame this another way. What good is he doing with his outlandish statements?

You commented initially only on his use of the word ā€˜criminal’; this was clearly not meant literally, yet you treated it as if it were. That’s the only thing I was commenting on; nothing more.

He’s never thrown up on my doorstep.

Edit: Mind you I’m not very vigilant at checking the bushes, maybe he done a tactical in the bushes.

Yeah, he’s a barrister.

Why is his rhetoric so alien to his presumed experience?

I ask again, how is he helping?

He’s an alarmist pro-European that probably costs more votes nationally than he wins locally.

That’s speculation of course.

What is inarguable is that he talks a load of shit, and is educated and smart enough not to have to

How’d you think Labour Leave voters felt when he called them fascist?
