I’m trying to establish how you see Russias role in the nazis defeat. I don’t think they are solely responsible for the victory but I do think they were pivotal.
Eg. How many divisions were defeated by the Russians? How many by other allies?
I see their role of a second front as important to the point it sped the war up by years ie the failure to secure their objective and the counter offensive by the Soviets, this massively helped the allies on the Atlantic front.
The numbers killed were massively high due to many reasons again, the war was attritional, bitter and both side committed the most heinous of war crimes.
You’re falling for the Soviet game of numbers lost which makes them more important and valuable, they lost millions due to Stalin murdering many of his best commanders in the great purge.
Geography this time saved the Soviets.
The British warned Stalin about invasion but he didn’t trust us, because he was a prick really.
Once the US joined the war the war was won, Britain would have resisted but would have bled a slow death due to Atlantic blockades, the Soviets and Germany would have carved up Europe and it’ll look a lot different to today.
Lets not forget Stalin was a tyrant and absolute bastard to his people.
He enslaved his parts of Europe and held them back years.
And numbers of divisions defeated? I made no mention of the numbers of Soviets lost.
